I have been working at Impinj full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Company culture that allows me to attack problems in a respectful and forthright manner - Great flexibility in terms of when and where I get my work done as long as it is done well and on time - Its ok to try and fail. Just make sure that the communication and feedback loop is open and often

    Cons

    - Growing pains are really. Everyone is pushing hard and that can make small tasks feel difficult

    Advice to Management

    - Be transparent and gain alignment. Work closely with your teams to push down company goals and objectives clearly and often. If we can keep great people rowing in the same direction we can have a huge impact.

    I worked at Impinj full-time

    Pros

    - Nice offices - Some great people in the rank and file - Good work life balance

    Cons

    - Lack of vision and execution beyond core chips business - Highly politicized, toxic atmosphere at the senior levels which trickles down throughout the organization - High turnover amongst those not in the "old guard" - Fires people a lot - Management is dishonest about the state of the companies' execution on vision - Environment that can be actively punitive to those who speak up about problems with direction

    Advice to Management

Seriously need to clear out a few people in exec staff that are actively bringing the company down. Need product and engineering people who can bridge the gap between nebulous vision and actual products that meet customer needs

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Impinj full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People that work here are really great. Everyone is trying hard to grow the company.

    Cons

Top-down dictatorship. Execs stay in their offices and only socialize with each other or favorites. Tiny Pulse system to 'gauge employee satisfaction' is a joke because the execs respond to negative responses in a way that freaks the employees out and makes them less likely to complain.

I have been working at Impinj

    Pros

The company has a really welcoming presence. The 360 degree view of South Lake Union, Capitol Hill, and Space Needle allow for an immersive experience with the company. Impinj also provides free snacks and drinks. In my short time at Impinj, I was fully embraced into the culture. I enjoyed the welcoming presence of the PE&C (HR) team, they really knew how to keep newcomers feeling like they were already a part of the...

    Cons

There were a few times with my team when I felt like my success and my goals were put on the back burner. I was really excited to take on duties and learn a multitude of skills, however when I requested for certain things to help with my professional growth I noticed a lack of delivery from my manager. The team was great, but I don't think I was a good fit for them. I found it a little more difficult than usual to get...

    Advice to Management

I've noticed with other teams, some of their focus was in team building. There were very few times that my team and I ever took time out of work to build and grow as a team. Learn to create a more welcoming experience for all newcomers. My first encounter with my manager, I could sense immediately that he did not click. I would encourage investing more time in getting to know your employees personal and professional goals...

It is a great company from a technology perspective as the leader in their industry. Alway looking to innovate with new products and excellence in technology

    Cons

Massive change in culture with new management driving the true sense of customer service that attracted me to the company to a secondary position for the sake of revenue

    Cons

Not a lot of people of color (need more diversity) need more culturally driven events that will help employees of diverse backgrounds have more relatable events to participate in and others a chance to learn more about their co-workers backgrounds (because Cinco De Mayo should not be the only thing recognized)

    Advice to Management

    Diversity brings forth diverse ideas

    Pros

Impinj is a company that has demonstrated excellence in all facets of our business. The technology is both established and strong, the business is thriving, the leadership is smart and well-coordinated, and the culture is one of a kind. It is a privilege being a member of the Impinj team!

    Cons

Our challenges are where they should be - growth, scalability, and maintaining position as the market leader. We have clear vision and big goals. For those that thrive working in a fast pace culture, changing business environment, and have a winning desire - this is the place for you.

I have been working at Impinj full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Impinj is one of Seattle's gems and will soon be one of Seattle's great companies. It has a great vision and mission that will make the world a better place, a huge opportunity, a great team, an awesome culture, an honest transparent C-level team, a beautiful new facility, it's committed to improvement, and it has employees from all over the world.

    Cons

Small group of employees who feel entitled instead of grateful, growing pains to accomodate accelerating revenue growth

    Advice to Management

Maintain focus on culture, mission, vision and strategy. Keep breaking down silos. Hire the best. Keep improving the culture. It is already awesome and only getting better.

I have been working at Impinj full-time for more than a year

    Pros

After a long career working tech companies all over the US I can say that Impinj is among the greats. Really appreciate the professionalism and intellect of my peers, fairly strong management, really like the CEO and most of the leaders, pay and benefits are really good and there are tons of perqs (food, events, ORCA card, Bagel Friday, Beer Wednesday, etc.), office is TOP SHELF, and there is this near-manic focus on...

    Cons

Some leaders are not aligned and now-and-then disagreements in strategy spill over to those of us doing the hands-on-work which creates confusion. A bit of silo behavior going on but I am seeing my VP working to counter that which is cool. Match on the 401k (none) is used to reduce my benefits cost which is nice but at my age the match really means something. Parking is not paid but I get an ORCA card and a transportation...

    Advice to Management

Keep being leaders! You communicate really well and that means a lot to me and those around me. Really appreciate the transparency and the follow through on trying to make Impinj better and better. Don't be distracted by nay sayers who complain about the little things. I love Impinj and wish I had joined LONG before I did. Those who complain do not have first hand knowledge of how bad most places are to appreciate how...

I have been working at Impinj full-time

    Pros

Good people, company has good goals, wonderful new office space, growing company, awesome technology, decent benefits, overall pretty good place to work.

    Cons

Open office format = cubes are small, and super loud. Culture seems forced. Some devs have entitlement complex. Parking at office is not fully paid for. A lot of 'that's the way we've always done it' mentality in some departments

    Advice to Management

Culture happens based on the people you have, not what you want the people you already have to be.
