The LEAP program is the best first step into the tech industry one could ask for. The team at InConsulting made themselves available for support at every part of the program. They were always professional, responsive, and helpful.

InConsulting was extremely prompt and very professional when it came to answering questions and making sure everyone was taken care of regarding HR paperwork. The LEAP program itself is an amazing opportunity and I highly recommend this as a next step for folks who are going through a coding bootcamp. I went through the program to explore opportunities as a TPM with Microsoft. The technical interview coaching is great and really helped with finding a job after. The community that InConsulting and LEAP has built is a huge help for people breaking into the industry. They proved to be a great resource for advice and inspiration.

Cons

While InConsulting does look out for you to a degree, the program does NOT guarantee permanent placement, so it is risky if you either have a full time job already, or you're relocating to Seattle WA for the position. You can be a top performer in your cohort and still not be offered a position due to hiring freezes or reductions in force. To get around this, my advice to you is to be up front with your team, state your intention (e.g. Im here to get a permanent position on your team) and then keep your options open (other teams in Microsoft or take a look at Amazon, Google, Facebook etc... they all have offices here)

Kal is an amazing teacher. Her teaching style not only simplifies Software programming fundamentals but instills passion and confidence for software development and being a continous learner.

Pros

The team is really approachable and friendly. For me, I got to work on different range of the projects, starting from a single client to mid sized client projects. During each project, the management used to sync with me and give feedback and help with my soft skills for dealing with the clients. Overall, I got a different learning experiences in terms of technology, teamwork and exposure while working here. And the most important part is the management cares about the employees.

I really like the Health insurance, they offer strong PTO for the industry, and are open about your bills Les which isn’t common in the industry.

I’m not sure if this is a con or a pro, but they don’t really reach out to you during your contract. You have to reach out to them. I haven’t had any issues getting responses when I need anything, just some companies are known for schmoozing more, this company isn’t really into that.

Management is very professional and organized. I worked here after some years gap in my career. They helped me to regain the confidence and brought me up-to-date with current technology trend. I would recommend anyone (especially to women) to give them a try.

The owner, Aparna, is very responsive to all requests and she cares about all of her employees. She goes above and beyond to place her clients who come from coding bootcamps. I've had a great experience working with her for the past year.

No cons at the moment. Just make sure to read your contract and understand it, everything you'll need to know will be there.

Fantastic staff and a company that truly cares about their employees! As the company is family owned and managed, it feels like you are with family when you are at work. Very flexible work environment, with the ability to work remotely as needed. The company also aspires and guides for career advancement of every employee.

I was really happy to know that InConsulting was started by two sisters in tech. They are doing it for a good cause by bringing light in so many peoples careers. I am really glad to meet Aparna and Kalpana through this program.
