I worked at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Short Work Week, could be a great job for students as long as you dont get stuck at work.

    Cons

As compared to other human services organizations, InVision accepts individuals who are the worst of the worst. Most of the individuals are extremely violent and will attack and injure staff. Individiuals will exibit extreme psychological behaviors while you are stuck working for 56 hours or more alone with them with no support at all. The supervisors will expect you to stay and finish your block shift with them even...

    Advice to Management

Some individuals are best left in a residential facility where they are safe and have effecient amount of staff who are trained and will recieve support for their behaviors. The supervisors need to relieve staff who are scheduled to get off their block when their is no coverage. We have lives and obligations outside of work. Pay block staff at least minimum wage for staying overnight for 8 hours. Get company vehicles...

    Pros

Short work week Left alone by management

    Cons

Short staffed and you are often stuck after doing a 56 hour block schedule, costly benefits, do not pay you for the 8 hours of sleep time while in the clients home and don't allow you to leave. Have to drive your own personal car to take clients around and to family visits. No support for staff with client's family, have to pay up front to take clients on outings and wait weeks to get reimbursed by company, will pull...

    Advice to Management

Treat direct care staff better. Hire floats and fill in staff and leave the regular full time staff in their programs.

Their benefit package is nice including Medical, Life Insurance .Short and LT disability and 401k match. Pay above industry average,PTO

    Cons

Getting moved to clients for coverage can be frustrating ,however ,it is the nature of the job

    Advice to Management

Keep up the positive professional attitude. Input from employees should continue to be encouraged. Keep growing within your means and never stop your vision of helping others.

I worked at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Supportive coworkers, stable employer, decent benefits and pay for this field.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations of upper management in job duties, company philosophy does not extend to employees. Example: employees not paid for sleeping on a blow up mattress or on floor. Pulled unexpectedly to more acute houses, and of course not enough training for anyone.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with dignity and respect. Management needs to listen to its work horse positions regarding what the challenges of the providing services are: the supervisors and team leaders. They need to stop expecting that staff can " stop behaviors".

I have been working at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The only pro here is that the management mostly leaves you alone. You get to come and go as you please with the client the majority of the time.

    Cons

Too many cons to list. Unqualified staff, poor training, management that just sneak around your back, clientele that will definitely injure you and rules that change to benefit the management not regular staff.

    Advice to Management

Difficult to give advice to management that have each other's back and think they know it all. Management needs to give support to the group homes, not look out for themselves only.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The CEO has a great attitude and outlook for the company. There are staff that really work hard to help you if needed.

    Cons

The management tells you that no matter what happens with the clients, that you be consistent with your story between your peers. The reason for this is that the clients they have need way too much care and the real professionals say that they're in the wrong environment. This makes the residential counselors job extremely difficult and can have severe consequences both to the employee and the client.

    Advice to Management

You should never take on clients that can be a danger to the community, staff and most of all to the client. It's not supposed to be about the money, it's supposed to be about the client.

I worked at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Dedicated Supervisors, Clinicians, and DSP's. Some wonderful clients, who unfortunately--due to awful management and structure from the top which trickles down--will never have a chance to fully succeed in their placements. A wonderful and compassionate CEO who truly wanted this to be unique for those who do not fit the traditional CLA placements. The belief that every individual can be successful with the right placement....

    Cons

On-call, lack of training for DSP's, Absolutely 0 work-life balance--this place, particularly as a Supervisor or Manager--will completely take over your life, no matter how hard you try to not let it. Crisis calls at 2 in the morning, 4 in the morning. Forget sleep when the going gets tough. Herd mentality in full effect here, and I do believe that anyone who is mentally healthy would not stay working here long term....

    Advice to Management

The Management here is very dedicated to the mission, but completely blind to the regulatory and fiduciary realities of this field to the point where it ruins any work that is trying to be accomplished. Let's be honest, there are times where a specific individual simply is not suited for a particular placement. The issue is that Management here will try to fit a square peg in a round hole and keep the individual...

I have been working at InVision Human Services

    Pros

I have worked with other home health providers and felt this one cared more about the clients they serve. The human resource people and supervisors were very nice. If you like helping make a difference in peoples lives that need help living indpendantly this is a great job for you.

    Cons

Some times the clients can be challenging. There is also staff shortages that end up leaving you having to work with clients that you know little about, and working much overtime.
