I worked at InVision Human Services for more than 4 years

    Pros

Supervisors team is great we supported each other at times of need. Program Managers provided great support and always an open door to discuss issues or any concerns. Great pension plan. Enjoyed most of the individuals I worked with and staff. I will say this agency has had success with many of the individuals. Awesome to see them improve when hiring the right fit in staff for the individual.

    Cons

Staff turn over, and scheduling or pulling staff to work at houses with individuals they were not familiar with. Accepting referrals of clients that are not appropriate for the program. Higher management will not accept that at times they made a mistake in accepting an individual who is not appropriate for the program. They continue to serve the individual not advocating for staff. Positive choices for the individual...

    Advice to Management

Change the on call for supervisor. Suggestion in the past to have supervisor on call one day a week and weekends. Each rotate. Less stress for the supervisors and they wanted this but management would not consider. Seriously review referrals and get all information prior to accepting. The training of staff via phone calls ISP does not work seek a better way to train staff that are being placed in a home with a client...

I have been working at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Block schedule works well for students or people who have another job or just want to spend more time with family

    Cons

Issues with staffing. Getting pulled to work with individuals that you are not familiar with on little notice. Lack of support.

I worked at InVision Human Services

      Pros

One pro is that many of the positions are remotely managed/supervised. Clients are provided a home which is in some cases located up 2 hours away from the main office.

      Cons

The training for residential counselors is insufficient, many staff are thrown into homes with clients who they have never worked with and have to learn quickly the clients behaviors. Some staff have reported being assaulted and harmed by clients (even though that comes with the territory in the human services field). Also, I gave them 2 weeks notification as required per their policy when I quit, only to have my supervisor...

      Advice to Management

Increase manning and decrease the amount of time one individual spends on a block or pay them for their sleep periods. Increase the time of training for new employees and ensure employees and supervisors fully understand the polices and procedures.

I have been working at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

The individuals are awesome. Company offers great benefits. Invision offers excellent training.

      Cons

3rd block needs to have unannounced visits and monitoring from supervisors. Most 3rd block employees do not spend time on helping the individuals with achieving their goals and use their work time for their own advantage and not the individuals advantage since the supervisors do not do weekend visits. Supervisors MUST do unannounced monitoring and visits on the weekends to make sure that 3rd block is doing their job....

      Advice to Management

You really need to have weekend supervisors specifically in the Hummlestown and Harrisburg areas do visits. You will be surprised to see what goes on during block 3. Your team leaders need more training! Many are very unqualified ti do their jobs!

I worked at InVision Human Services full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Okay pay, mostly decent hours, cell phone allowance (and discount through Verizon), laptop supplied, paid mileage and expenses, if you can prove them. Also free trainings at the main office (compliance and client/patient issues).

      Cons

NOT enough training before being put in the field, not enough training on the computerized billing system, laptops supplied are old and don't run well, have to use your own car for far-flung assignments and to transport client/patients, in management's eyes the client is ALWAYS right and you are NOT, must chart in front of the client (uncomfortable).

      Advice to Management

Spend a little more time training on billing and your expectations on wording for client notes, realize that your staff has a side of the story sometimes, and that you are dealing with possibly unstable individuals, by virtue of their diagnosis..I believe Ruth Siegfried means/meant well with creating the company, but it has slid downward since then. She needs to step up to the plate and change up the people who are so...
