I have been working at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

The individuals are awesome. Company offers great benefits. Invision offers excellent training.

      Cons

3rd block needs to have unannounced visits and monitoring from supervisors. Most 3rd block employees do not spend time on helping the individuals with achieving their goals and use their work time for their own advantage and not the individuals advantage since the supervisors do not do weekend visits. Supervisors MUST do unannounced monitoring and visits on the weekends to make sure that 3rd block is doing their job....

      Advice to Management

You really need to have weekend supervisors specifically in the Hummlestown and Harrisburg areas do visits. You will be surprised to see what goes on during block 3. Your team leaders need more training! Many are very unqualified ti do their jobs!

I worked at InVision Human Services for more than a year

      Pros

It is a good place to gain experience, and they do have some really sweet clients.

      Cons

The company has very agrestive clients, and staff is to be prepared to get attacked. I had a client bite me 4 times in one night, and my supervisor stated it was due to the client being sick. They downplayed the entire situation. I have had supervisors twist words or misinterpreted them, and turned they chose to turn families in to the state, so watch what and how you say things.

      Advice to Management

Do not make drastic decisions without including the support staff who works with the client for 8 hour shifts, and you are only st the house once a month for an hour or two.

I worked at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

The field supervisors are superior. I believe they were the most supportive people I have ever worked with. I felt I had been given the tools for success in my direct up-line. Working without direct supervision was made much easier due to clear communication and access to answers when needed. Also the majority of Team Leaders were professional and offered even more support. The block shifts were wonderful as well....

      Cons

Not much support from headquarters. In the signals division, where safety of personnel and community should be utmost, the upper management are more concerned with the advocacy of the clients. Yes, they are in this program for a reason but much more caution should be taken.

      Advice to Management

When gaining referrals and setting up accomodations to aquire new individauls a more thorogh process is needed to ensure the safety and success from the start. Instead it is more of a "play as you go" senario which ends up being very volitile.

I have been working at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Not a lot to mention besides a 3 day work week. If you don't mind being cut, slapped and spit on, then this is a great job for you. You will be hurt sometime while working at the group homes. If you are trying to sleep at night be careful because your bedroom door may be kicked down.

      Cons

I was violently attacked by their client and the company just had me examined by their list of doctors. Clients are dangerous and should not be in group homes. They are much stronger then the staff and can hurt you instantly.

      Advice to Management

Each client should be supervised by at least 2 staff per individual. They cost the company a lot of money in workman's compensation and can cause great harm to themselves , the staff and the general public.

I worked at InVision Human Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Short Work Week, could be a great job for students as long as you dont get stuck at work.

      Cons

As compared to other human services organizations, InVision accepts individuals who are the worst of the worst. Most of the individuals are extremely violent and will attack and injure staff. Individiuals will exibit extreme psychological behaviors while you are stuck working for 56 hours or more alone with them with no support at all. The supervisors will expect you to stay and finish your block shift with them even...

      Advice to Management

Some individuals are best left in a residential facility where they are safe and have effecient amount of staff who are trained and will recieve support for their behaviors. The supervisors need to relieve staff who are scheduled to get off their block when their is no coverage. We have lives and obligations outside of work. Pay block staff at least minimum wage for staying overnight for 8 hours. Get company vehicles...

      Pros

Short work week Left alone by management

      Cons

Short staffed and you are often stuck after doing a 56 hour block schedule, costly benefits, do not pay you for the 8 hours of sleep time while in the clients home and don't allow you to leave. Have to drive your own personal car to take clients around and to family visits. No support for staff with client's family, have to pay up front to take clients on outings and wait weeks to get reimbursed by company, will pull...

      Advice to Management

Treat direct care staff better. Hire floats and fill in staff and leave the regular full time staff in their programs.
