    Pros

    Very old school mentality...but it doesn't trickle into all departments. IT has it the best! Great benefits! Great people! Great opportunities however not everyone is open to change...

    Cons

    Remote work is frowned upon and even if you're salary, they expect you to make up time missed. They are evolving which is a good sign but is slow and painful. Lots of old schoolers with old mentality and not willing to accept change

    I have been working at Independent Purchasing Cooperative full-time

    Pros

    Benefits offered - in particular 10 % match on 401k. Employees are very friendly.

    Cons

    IPC needs to decide if we are a supply chain organization or IT development as culture and values are very different depending on the team you work with. IT staff has much more freedom to work from home and get the equipment they want while supply chain staff is not allowed. Advancement is hard as leaders believe in the friends and family plan. It is not what you know to advance but who you know. Only customer is Subway and they are having many challenges.

    Advice to Management

    Leave your offices and work with the employees in our spaces. Senior Leadership team should learn our names and what we really do for the company. Stop hiring friends and family - they are not qualified.

    This company has caring employees who help each other both professionally and personally.. Nice way to work... They work hard to stay current and relevant-good culture

    Only one major customer/account and could be valuable for other businesses

    Pros

    Small environment where you get to know most people and business groups. Very professional staff and management with knowledge and experience people at all levels. Benefits are incredible good including a fantastic 401k with a 100% matching up to 10% of salary.

    Cons

    Sometimes management makes decision unilaterally and based on impulsive thoughts or recommendations. They also use a friendship approach to recruiting, promoting, and other personnel decisions. If you are in, you go places, if you are not, then you better find the door!

    Advice to Management

    Run the company more transparently and listen to those that care about the company. You will be surprise of the results!

    Stop Changing methodologies constantly for dev teams and Infrastructure teams, get rid of uses less employyes

    Pros

    The management was open to process improvement and the implementation of new software as necessary for improving business. The overall environment offered opportunities for growth.

    Cons

    Not many Con's that I recall. The work environment was undergoing process improvement so perhaps the work environment was a bit unstable while undergoing restructuring. Otherwise, the forecast of stability was pretty good.

    new ideas are valued
    we are encouraged to try new things and allowed to fail
    we have the small company feel with big company resources, you have what you need to complete your job.

    Cons

    there is nothing that is a con at IPC. I believe the work environment is utopia when compared with other places.

    continue doing what you are doing and being a fierce defender of the IPC culture.

    AGILE environment, Annual Bonuses, Great fully paid benefits package, friendly outgoing employees from the CEO down.

    Cons

    Non-Profit Cooperative, Subway(r) negative influence affects work, Board of Directors very stingy with wages.

    Advice to Management

    Start paying your employees what they are worth or you will find you have no employees left when the economy improves.
