    Pros

Great coworkers, the training is very thorough leaving you with all the necessary tools. Every senior employee is always willing to help, assist, or talk to you about any questions or issues you may have.

    Cons

The work was straightforward but sometimes a little monotonous.

I have been working at Indiana Department of Natural Resources part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work in a beautiful Indiana State Park, have set hours (7:30 AM - 3:30 PM), and at least 2 days off between pay periods, possibility of gaining muscle through hard manual labor, 20% discount at all stores/concessions throughout the park, and highly discounted lunches at the Spring Mill INN.

    Cons

Wear a thick uniform in 80 degree Fahrenheit weather and much, much warmer weather, heavy duty work for minimum wage, only 37.5 hours of work (anything over 37.5 hours is overtime and caps at 40 hours), disorganized duties each day, occasional housekeeping of bathrooms, EXTREMELY SHORT LUNCH BREAK, natural pests and occasional snake appearances.

    Advice to Management

Ask for input from employees to improve working conditions for everyone, incorporate employee incentives (not necessarily money, but anything from compliments to gifts for working hard), and encourage and tell employees what they are doing well.

I have been working at Indiana Department of Natural Resources full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers. Great starter position to gain experience.

    Cons

Pay is ridiculously low for work load and very uncompetitive. No opportunity for advancement. Little recognition of employees. Politics, politics, politics.

    Advice to Management

Look out for your employees and fight to get them the pay they deserve. Fill open positions in a much more timely fashion instead of expecting one person to fill three positions with absolutely no additional compensation.
