I worked at Indiana Legal Services, Inc. as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very passionate, driven staff and director. Extremely personable and welcoming work environment. A lot of great, hands-on experience with clients.

    Cons

Near constant problems with the "legal files" software. It seems very outdated - not sure how ILS can improve upon this. Many times, I would be inputting client information and the software would freeze, or shut down.

    Advice to Management

It is difficult at a legal services corporation to spread the funds around to the satisfaction of everyone, but certain improvements can be made as to the software needed for client information logging and maintenance. Lots of "short-cuts" and seemingly arbitrary steps are needed to navigate legal files successfully. Difficult to get used to.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Indiana Legal Services, Inc. part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The law firm serves indigent people with many different legal issues. They do a good job and truely care about their clients

    Cons

The support staff is overloaded with cases and seem to be stressed and irritated while on the phone with clients. They need more support and training.

    Advice to Management

Allow all staff to be present during meetings and case discussions, including interns and support staff. This will allow the law firm to operate efficiently.
