Pros
This unit particularly has a great sense of teamwork and will go up to bat for each other. Residents are typically a pleasure to work with (there are bad eggs everywhere), the medical director is amazing and loves to teach the nursing staff.
Cons
IU Health management was rarely seen and I felt unheard.

Pros
I learn a lot. The team of nurses that I work with are smart and genuinely care about their patients. And it seems like upper management is trying to change the culture of IU Health for the better.
Cons
No one has the resources to do their job effectively. The overall culture is worn-out, defeated, and negative.

Pros
I think very intelligent nurses and other staff work here, there are many competent people willing to sacrifice themselves to their jobs.
Cons
Main CEO (Evans) doesn't understand the culture of bedside care and focuses on too much of a business perspective. Dishonest, biased reasoning for wage cuts and layoffs like the ACA (which has actually helped many of my patients pay their medical bills). Unfair absence policy only gives 4 sick times (or less depending on location) in a year with disciplinary points after 3-4 unplanned absences. Meaning if you are sick once in April and call in, you will have that counted against you until April of the following year. Nurses work sick. Also don't have the staff needed to provide safe care. Nurse to patient ratio usually above grid and borders unsafe. Management demonstrates lack of respect for professionals. Salary is well below national average and nurses in some IU health locations start around $22.33 per hour. Entire IU health system is like a monopoly and doesn't factor in the different needs of different locations across Indiana.

Pros
Was able to see daily duties for project managers. Everyone was very nice and willing to tell you about their roles. Upper level management was very present during my time at IU Health.
Cons
Intern process was not very formal. Initial interview made the internship seem very exciting with many things to learn. However, the majority of the time the internship involved very very basic administrative tasks.

Pros
The benefits package is good and they do care about their Colleagues. There are a lot of good opportunities for training and growth.
Cons
There are some issues with communication from the corporate office and a lack of integration. There are many opportunities to improve relationships between IU Health and it's affiliates.

Pros
Work with many people throughout the organization; develop understanding of how IU Health System operates
Cons
None that I can think of off the top of my head.

Pros
IU Health offers a broad range of positions allowing one to grow and advance in their career or move into other career paths. The same types of jobs are available in many different departments giving you new experiences. Opportunity to work in a professional environment where most team members treat each other with respect. I’ve always worked with team members that really care about the patient first. Your work, no matter what it is, will be important and necessary.
Cons
The healthcare field is complex, it can be exhausting, always changing, fast paced, never shuts down for holidays or over nights! Work life balance is sometimes hard with a job where our community (sick people) are dependent on you 24x7.

Pros
There are many opportunities for advancement and learning throughout 20 plus hospital system. Pay is competitive locally but we also set the market due to the high number of employees.
Cons
Medical Insurance per pay period for a family is over $350. There are certain departments within Clarian (IU Health) that are overworked and underappreciated.

Pros
Strong Nursing Leadership at the executive level with excellent visioning for the future of IU Health Nurses.
Cons
Large system can be difficult to navigate at times in terms of what opportunities are available.

Pros
IU Health provides excellent continued education and easy to accesses resources.
Cons
Often feel very just like a number or a warm body that is expected to serve patients like hotel staff.
