I worked at Indianapolis Airport Authority full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good quality people. Beautiful surroundings. Good pay. Always something going on. Good place to feel you are contributing to the company goals.

    Cons

Lay-offs come out of nowhere with no rationalization. It is hard to stay focused when you never know when your pink slip will come.

    Advice to Management

Encourage your employees. Give them a reason to stay. Stop blind-siding employees with lay-offs. Your reputation is suffering and this will not attract good people.

    Pros

As an intern you are exposed to several different environments, leadership styles, and tasks. Everyday many people pass through the airport and it is a wonderful experience.

    Cons

The best con I could give would be not being able to stay on as a permanent employee after the intersnship.

    Advice to Management

I had a great summer working as an intern with the airport and it's staff. I would recommend this opportunity to anyone I thought would benefit from it.

I have been working at Indianapolis Airport Authority full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Steady income. Flexible hours. New facility.

    Cons

No growth opportunities unless they like you. Pay is good only for executive team. The rest of the company pay is meager at best. Senior staff is continually looking at ways to cheap-down the labor.

    Advice to Management

Invest more wisely in your people.
