I worked at Infineon Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good compensation and established organization.

    Cons

Siloed organization (too many establish or entrenched "specialists"), politics, no cross-functional diversity.

    Advice to Management

    Eliminate the Euro-centric business ideal.
Focus on value added niche products and services.
Eliminate micro-management and specialists positions - promote cross-functional diversity.

I worked at Infineon Technologies (More than a year)

    Pros

Many nice individual contributors to work with.

    Cons

No room for career advancement. The culture is rigid and bureaucratic like many big corporates. German management style slows the process and allows low regional autonomy.

    Advice to Management

Utilize and respect the local talents. Local management should act like local instead of totally adopting the European style.

    Pros

Pay is usually good, but a temporary thing.

    Cons

Growth, Potential is low. Investment grade as viewed by the institiions is very low.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your core technologies and learn to innovate and grow organically. Past acquisitions were failures, cash position in 2011/2012 was a result of selling the wireless division to Intel.

I worked at Infineon Technologies full-time

    Pros

Their IT roadmap and solutions are amazing.. Really good in house systems, eagerness to embrace new tech and some very bright people.

    Cons

If you don't speak German then you are left out of meetings where you are not the lead or directly required to action an item. English is meant to be the corporate language, but this doesn’t appear to be the case for IT, as they freely talk German in meetings and on calls and only occasionally translate the odd subject when they think you will need to work on it. Your opportunities for progression are non-existent if not based in Munich or Villach and the relocation package offered is nowhere near enough, if you have small children in education. If you don't fall into the above cats, then i would guess this could be a really good company to work for.

    Advice to Management

IT Analytics does not need to be based centrally in 2017, especially if they are willing to travel for face to face meeting as required. You are losing great people by insisting they move to your central offices.
