I worked at Infinera full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Technology innovative and product quality best of breed. Some very hard-working, talented and seasoned mid-level Managers, Sales and Engineering leaders, yet all must obey and follow the unwritten political and personal agendas of the executives that started with Infinera, never challenging too much the patriarchal ideas.

    Cons

Upper management that has been with Infinera for 10+ years is untouchable; no encouragement of open, creative collaboration; no clarity in product strategy direction; toxic, demotivating environment that fosters internal competition and conflicting, misaligned business objectives; lack of promotion or encouragement of female leadership and lack of respected, valuable contribution from females. Carnivorous internal competition among product lines, employers, business units, management objectives only confuses, distracts and demotivates employees. It also feeds toxic, counterproductive, competitive environment. Partner and direct sales organization are not aligned and compete for customers. Channel partner management does not provide empowering, encouraged contribution from team equally and clearly plays favorites, manipulatively sabotaging the success of others that bring new ideas. Lack of integrity and continuity from different stakeholders at Infinera, which becomes utterly apparent to partners and customers, causing them to lose confidence, trust and respect in the company long-term. Upper management close-minded with personal, politically-focused agenda. Acquisition of Coriant was nightmare for employees, customers and especially partners with no clear business plan, road map, commitment to current business or support.

    I worked at Infinera full-time

    Pros

Got a chance to work with best Developers in the industry. Flat organization, minimal politics and good work and life balance.

    Cons

Off late there were too many uncertainties post Coriant acquisition. No clarity from upper management on the road map, new org structure and policies. A lot of people leaving the company and there has been lay offs too... It will take a while for Infinera to become a stable company with clear vision.
