I have been working at Infocrossing full-time

    Pros

Co workers, good exposure to offshoring model, great way to learn what not to do.

    Cons

Short sighted management, rotates every couple years. Decisions made without thinking long term, just what can get noticed while on rotation. Always reactive instead of proactive. Company doesn't treat employees well, OK benefits, but doesn't give yearly cost of living increases and always takes the cheap route. Outdated systems and infrastructure. Wipro is too cheap to do things right. Always short cut solutions. Incredibly high turnover. Continued movement of positions to India and shrinking of US team. Your ceiling is pretty limited unless you are from India. No real path for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Plan a little and look beyond your 2-3 year rotation. People aren't commodities, you might be able to get away with it back home in India, but it isn't a successful strategy in US.

I worked at Infocrossing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees who service State government Medicaid contracts are the most highly skilled and knowledgeable people I have worked with.

    Cons

Wipro Limited Management, a division of Wipro, an offshore based company from India has created additional bureaucratic layers for local Management and has totally tied their hands to manage on a day-to-day basis. When hired for one key management position, I arrived to find out i was actually assigned three key management positions. When I pushed back and asked for transparency and honesty, I was shown the door.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. Stop billing MO State Medicaid for employee work done on other projects such as responding to RFP's and RFI's in other states.

I have been working at Infocrossing full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only thing that was nice about Infocrossing was that they have an employee group - made up of funds donated by the employees which provided breakfast at a small cost, then with the money made they would buy small gifts at the holidays for the employees.

    Cons

Management doesnt care about the employees at all. There are many experienced people who do not get promoted because the managers dont like them. Some employees are allowed to goof off while the others have to cover their work. Most employees never get a raise until they are management in the MO company however the India company gives anywhere from 10%-16% raises yearly.

    Advice to Management

Speak up to the corporate office and get the employees some benefits. Manage your employees better.
Quit making friends outside of work with some employees and then letting them do as they please at work. You shouldnt be a friend - you should be a manager.

I worked at Infocrossing full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I didn't eat the free bagels

    Cons

Long hours No pay increases Teams both on shore and off hard to get a hold of.

Virtual and Recovery Service are bad but Monitoring is worse. 100 device down tickets in the middle of the night for a server that was retired and the Monitoring team didn't even look at the ticket for 2 weeks.

I have been working at Infocrossing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People who part of the Infocrossing side are terrific. Work with new technology. Remote work is flexible.

    Cons

Wipro GIS is terrible! There are so many GIS Project Managers for one project that there is no direction or focus. The Service Desk of Wipro are at their best when you do their work for them and just ask them to escalate the trouble ticket. They can't even read and comprehend the format in the ticketing system to make it readable for the technician. Service desk just regurgitates poorly written emails that lack detail and forwards the ticket to the wrong team 90% of the time. If you want to be in a role where the GIS projects team just rides you while they fiddle their thumb and make empty promises of process improvement. This is the place. But in any other case do not accept a position with Wipro. I regret it everyday.

    Advice to Management

Infocrossing Management are great people. But their vision gets lost in the Wipro spirit which is questionable...Do not have your spirit leader promote her book during orientation.

    Pros

    Exposure to Cloud Services.
    Good client base

    Cons

    Hectic Work load.
Strength of Global SDM community when I joined was around 32. During 2 years it dropped to 16. All clients will be shared across SDMs when one quits the organisation.
Managers do not entertain process improvements.
Most of the managers are re-batched and carries legacy intellect.
Ineffective senior management layer who acts reactive to situations.
Shared delivery model hence SDMs will not have direct reporters.
    Compensation is below market standard.
Delivery is suffered by quality, since Cloud service is offered with attractive cost client prefer to continue service. Otherwise client sat is negative.
Unethical practices are followed to achieve good client satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Even Ombuds failed to address unethical practices.

    Pros

Pro: Not too much, but the ability to work from home was a major thing at the time, but I think that's changed as well

    Cons

Since the buyout of Infocrossing by Wipro, things have continued to go downhill. its way to common to be told that you have to put in 50+ hour weeks.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with the employees about the status of the offshoring, and come out and say what you think needs to be done for people to have a long term job.
