I have been working at Infogroup full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere. Infogroup has found something with work-life balance that seems to work for it's employees. People are what makes this place tic. There are good opportunities for internal advancement if you are driven to find them.

    Cons

Limited internal resources. Cutbacks from years ago are still affecting productivity today. Sales support and development seem to have the greatest resource challenges.

    Advice to Management

Keep fostering attention to the resources you currently have. Incentives of some value to non sales positions for performance or achievements would be a nice way to promote employee satisfaction and reduce turnover.

I worked at Infogroup full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Legitimately can't think of any, other than it was located where I lived in Omaha.

    Cons

It was the worst job I've ever had - low morale, lack of care for workforce, shut down multiple divisions in Omaha and outsourced jobs to India.

I worked at Infogroup full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Office was nice.
The location of the office was nice.
The people there are friendly (even the managers).
    Pay was decent.

    Cons

Two (self included) out of the eight programmers used version control.
Most everyone else edited code on the production server, or at least skipped running it on the dev server.
Not sure if they were switching to agile the year I was there or just using it wrong.
When I (and others) brought up project management issues we usually got "We're working on fixing that" then no action was taken to address those issues.

    Advice to Management

Get organized and disciplined in both your development cycle and project management.

    Pros

Great job. Enjoyed the work I did!

    Cons

Company has a lot of lay offs!

    Advice to Management

Sad that a person works their whole career and gets laid off. Management needs to do a better job of planning budgets so that doesn't happen to senior employees.

I worked at Infogroup full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some great people that work at Infogroup. The concept is great.

    Cons

Leadership at the Executive staff level is misguided. Most of them should not be in the position that they are in. Verbally abusive, degrading and constantly looking for someone else to blame when a mistake is made or they make a poor decision. Unable to provide a strategic plan past 30 days. Low moral. Chain of command is faulty with no governance to report serious issues.

    Advice to Management

Invest in staff as an asset. Evaluate leadership quality and determine if all Executive staff (CTO, CAO, etc.) are properly leading their division. Investigate real reason staff turn over is unacceptably high.

    Pros

Nice location, on-site cafeteria, good pay, fun environment.

    Cons

Management is terrible. Management team is made up of failed sales reps. Micro-management is big here. Management favors females. Terrible training program. Survival of the fittest!

    Advice to Management

They look out for the best interest of them and not there employees. Management will stab you in the back faster than you can blink an eye. Quit stepping out on your wives! Have a little bit of self-respect.

I worked at Infogroup (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Casual dress, 12 hours of PTO per month, 10-11 paid holidays, opportunity to work with a different technologies, good pay and bounces, some nice people to work with.

    Cons

Poor and unqualified management, very high stress level, poor work-life balance, high employee turn over [a department saw 55 employees depart the company out of 54 in 3 three years [100% turn over]], few conflicts between team members due to anxious caused by company environment and management, useless HR department [HR only document employees feed back but no action taken against poor and unqualified people specially some management staff. Some teams are understaffed with high management expectations, daily fire drills.

    Advice to Management

Higher qualified managers and setup long term departmental goals. Higher enough staff to support company technologies, improve company reputation by hiring upper management staff locally.

    Pros

None. Salary is good. Health Insurance is very expensive. Think twice before taking a job with this company.

    Cons

    Very insulting and humiliating CTO.
I have been working for a crazy unpredictable and bipolar CTO. There is a high staff turnover, no training, no documentations, no process, no work-life balance, a lot of internal corruption, and a one man show.

    Advice to Management

    Get engaged.

    Pros

Casual dress, clean bathrooms, on site cafeteria.

    Cons

Training and orientation was almost non existent and expectations were not clearly defined. Poor communication skills in management. Lack of honest, clear communication.

    Advice to Management

Setup a structured orientation and training that goes beyond a short company introduction video and a security quiz. Screen for management with better communication skills. Don't allow management to pass their duties off to human resources or other busy coworkers with their own work to do. Do more to show that you value your employees.
