I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has navigated a complex transformation and is emerging much stronger as a result. The Channel has an incredibly strong direction and is very well placed to leverage the Partner ecosystem for growth. It is a huge 'pro' that the company has the determination, confidence, talent and the tenacity to go through a transformation. It's even more rewarding to see it paying off.

I am also very excited to see the calibre of talent the company has and continues to attract - incredibly driven, smart people signing up to play their part in our future.

    Cons

Despite the change and evidence of success - there are a few passive aggressive commentators in the company (like every other company) who need to find a new path in life. It is not a place to be for the feint of heart or people who want to sit on the bench and be critical observers of change. Be agents FOR change, & play your part - or move on.

    Advice to Management

Keep on truckin' :-) We are all going to benefit from the hard work.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Some really smart, conscientious co-workers (emphasis on some)
    - Good career-building experience
    - Pre-buyout, terrific internal training and investment in employees

    Cons

    - Zero career advancement opportunities
    - Total breakdown in communication at every level, every day
    - Morale-breaking organizational decisions
    - Lackluster executive team in love with the sound of their own voices
    - No equity and long dry spell with no bonuses listening to sales get offered incentive after incentive
    - Stuck on a private equity LBO hamster wheel that seems to only be speeding up over time
    - Cavalcade of VPs being hired, but no new resources to do the work they generate
    - Competing priorities that constantly shif
    - Compete lack of creativity and initiative
    - Culture seems purposely divisive, siloed, and hierarchical
    - Pays lip-service to being customer-first
    - Unlimited PTO a farce if you have to work when you take it
    - Company so lean that there's no redundancy or back-up
    - "Quality" is a foreign concept
    - Collaboration loses out to competition and complacency
    - Lack of clarity of roles and responsibilities, despite constantly talking about it

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to high-profile lazy employees sliding by, doing the minimum, but talking a big game. It's hurting morale, chasing away hard workers, and affecting quality and credibility.

I worked at Informatica full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work life balance is awesome. The teams work really well together. Benefits is average. Perks include access to an awesome gym

    Cons

None that I can think of. This is probably the best company that I had worked in.

    Advice to Management

Went private, so equity is a bit questionable

I have been working at Informatica full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company is going through a total transformation from branding, product plays to back office operations. You don't come across too many companies in your career which are going through a total make over.

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is a big plus. Flexible working location option makes long working hours bearable.

    Cons

While going through transformation, everything gets harder. The work hours tend to be long.

We don't issue equity to employees below VP level which makes the recruiting a lot more harder.

    Advice to Management

Reconsider issuing equity to employees below VP level or increase compensation level if we want to stay competitive.

I worked at Informatica (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People are nice. Which is a good thing. But that's it.

    Cons

Worked at Informatica for more than 5 years. Culture was good back than. 2 years back, the company went private. Since then, company is bleeding talent. Managers does not seem to care. No more bonus. Not to mention equity, forget about it.
Inefficiency and poor management are the key factors.
If you are a below average engineer you'll like it.

    Advice to Management

Please retire. You are wasting stakeholders money.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Unlimited potential to make a difference -- very exciting and critically important sector - enterprise data management. Uplifting facilities, open door policy, strong IT support. After significant turnover on executive staff in early 2016, leadership is now solid and united.

    Cons

Pivot to cloud/subscription model is hard. Pockets of cultural resistance to change from old timers. As a private company, no stock plan for the rank and file. Under staffed.

    Advice to Management

As soon as the numbers allow, hire more producers. We have enough leaders, we need doers to spread the workload.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have never worked for a company who really allowed me to put my family first until I worked for Informatica. I am allowed a flexible schedule so that I can balance my family and work life as I need to. My managers trust me, know that I am loyal and stand behind me in my decisions as a SME. I am constantly challenged and able to pick up new skills. I am allowed the opportunity to bring an idea to the table and my management trust me in order to make it happen from review, testing to implementation. Overall I feel more valued.

    Cons

All the recent changes, from management to our internal programs.

    Advice to Management

Ease up on the changes. We went from Public to Private, then internal programs have changed to save money, layoffs, etc. We need to let the waters calm before we rock the boat again.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    401K and HQ Office Location

    Cons

    > Very Bad Management in HQ
    > Company lost the track due to outdated managers.
    > If the manager doesn't like you then behave like let go and you can't complain to his superior as it is a political ring.
    > They send the surveys to hear people voice and catch who is floating against them.
    > No Internal Transfers and if you apply you will be rejected.
    > No training to grow.

    Advice to Management

Good talent already left but not political managers as they can't get jobs outside. Informatica does have political spider network management which is very bad for the company.

Changing the logo doesn't change the employee satisfaction. Send the latest survey to employees to see how many happy with the company inside.
