    Pros

Beautiful business park location in Redwood City, friendly people

    Cons

Informatica is going through quite the transition after being acquired in August 2015. A lot of change in leadership which is a little unnerving.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Informatica offers many benefits, such as unlimited time off, great health care, and a wonderful group of colleagues. They also provide a great wok/life balance, allowing their employees to take time off as needed, or come in late or leave early for family events or emergencies. Informatica also puts a lot of emphasis on helping the community and getting their employees involved.

    Cons

There is always room for improvement, but with Informatica, there seems to be a large gap. Working in a remote office, away from their headquarters can feel lonely. The employees in Redwood City receive many more benefits than those working in other states and countries. It's also difficult to advance when working in a remote office and, unless one is willing to relocate to Redwood City, CA, then it would be worth noting to find comfort in your current position. They are also very strict on being able to use different tools for their employees to perform their functions effectively. There is only one sales tool available for prospecting, and they will not reimburse individuals for using other tools.

    Advice to Management

It may be a good idea to get out to the remote offices more often. The CMO's office is located in Cary, NC and not one individual from that office has actually seen him in the building. It would also be nice if there were options to move into a new position or advance in a career track at the currently employee's location, even if that means working remotely.

I have been working at Informatica full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to meet with a lot of Fortune 500 customers, travel, and interact with strategic account teams when gathering requirements.

    Cons

We used to have an employee engagement survey every year, but this December, there was nothing. This can only mean that the private equity board decided that it was not worth the cost. I guess that tells me all I need to know about how much they value employees.

    Advice to Management

The employee survey was the only anonymous way to let HR know about problems with the team. Without this survey, no employee is going to get the courage to go to their HR business partner and complain if there's a problem. No matter how much HR tries to assure us that comments will be kept confidential, the lack of this survey leads me to believe that if we ever complain to HR we will be tagged as troublemakers and be managed out.

Jan 12, 2016 – Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition Marketing & Employer Branding

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Historically, Informatica has surveyed employees every other year. While 2015 normally would have been time for such a survey, best practice is to not poll... More

    I worked at Informatica full-time

    Pros

Working with great colleagues who are very helpful and truly want to help you succeed.

    Cons

All the training you will receive comes from your colleagues and online training videos. Doesn't quite prepare you for the role.

Not much room for growth. There are promises of moving from Sales Development to Inside Sales but even the top performers are overlooked or held back by management from even interviewing.

    Advice to Management

    1. Better training
    2. Better leadership from management
    3. Less Micro-Managing
    4. Define a true career path
