I worked at Infosys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The training is one of the best aspects at Infosys Ltd. They make you fall in love with coding. I was never interested in programming before joining Infosys.

    Cons

The work environment after the training period is not so great. As it is a service oriented company they don't have lot projects for the amount of manpower they have.

I worked at Infosys full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Starting Job for fresh out of college, International Travel Opportunities are available. Good for gaining IT Skills.

    Cons

Extremely Bureaucratic. The company doesn't treat its employees well. The performance evaluation process for both appraisers and appraises is like a fish market and not subjective.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well. Build a more professional work environment. Be more considerate of client needs instead of a sole focus on billing.

    Pros

They have a great training program and they treat employees with all the facilities inside the campus be it playgrounds, gyms, foodcourts and coffee shops. The campus is lush green.

    Cons

The employees are never compensated well. There are no good hikes, there is too much buearocracy, middle management is the worst in the company. Few of the most incompetent people in the industry are in the middle management of Infosys.

    Advice to Management

please fire your most incompetent middle management and start hiring people who are eligible. Please keep your employees happy by giving them good compensations and hikes not by giving them beautiful campus. Please spend more on employees not on building your assets for balance sheet.

I worked at Infosys (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Infrastructure, facilities. The best company to start your career.

    Cons

Infosys as a company is one of the most respected company in India. Working with Infy has created a brand value for me. Also it has helped me gain international exposure in terms of experience and handling of professional clients. It has helped me develop the insight to various challenges which the IT industry of Developed world country face today. It has expanded my horizons of thinking and instilled an approach wit…

    Cons
Infosys has had an non-linear growth in terms of resources. In my opinion, infy is struggling majorly with people management. The middle layer functioning proves to be a threat to make a professional company look like a government bureaucratic company. Management still believes in seniority, and does not value performance and capability above seniority. The compensation is not upto standards of the IT industry in developed countries. There is no guideline from senior management asto where the company is heading. It feels as if the transperancy for which the company was proud about at one point of time is lost now. The freedom for people to work in their area of intrest is very very limited. Resources are forced to work against their will because of lack of support and opportunities from their management. The middle managers are completely theoritical and process oriented. Infy has made up so many processes that managers are unable to think beyond the box - out of those outlined processes. Processes eat away most of the time with no real value gained. It feels like a employee is completely detached from its management. Also the quality of resources has degraded drastically. Proper allocation of resources is not managed

    Advice to Management

Employees are your strength as well as intellectual capital. Employees are treated as body shop workers. Company management should do a reality check frequently to see whether the rules & policy impositions are practical or not. At the end of the day - MONEY Matters!!! Please revise your compensation levels.
