I have been working at Infosys as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

None. The worst experience I had.

    Too much politics, ineffective managers

    Advice to Management

Please hire people with some management skills at least (JL 6 and above)

I worked at Infosys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None if you are a US citizen employee

    Cons

    Very few vacation days
    Few holiday days
    No moving expense assistance
No path to become an employee for the client (non-compete contract)
Similar to enlisting for the US Military; Recruiters tell half-truths and difficult to leave for another company
If you are a US citizen employee you have no upward movement within the company

    Advice to Management

Look to your US employees as equals to your "onshore" employees. Embrace diversity when hiring. Encourage direct management to get to know their subordinates. Also maybe get HR departments stationed in the countries where you hire the most employees.

I worked at Infosys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Given pseudo lead opportunities if American.

    Cons

A lead position was a farce, as credit was given to offshore workers who could not produce consistent results. Work not credited to the client, unless I was present. Constant manipulation of data points for client reports so that the contract looked good. Forced to lie "in the client's interests". Felt very unethical to continue working for a such a prejudiced and manipulative company.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate micro managing. Mandate telling the truth to the clients. Hire Americans; it is demeaning to have everyone else speaking Hindi and laughing then look at you.

I worked at Infosys as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a huge contract with Apple/US firms.

    Cons

1.The managers have so called higher experience than those directly recruited by Apple inc, yet all that they are capable to doing is nodding their heads to whatever-crap-they-are expected to. They are meer puppets who are willing to do anything and will enforce the same .
2.Most do not understand the technology or do they do they attempt to figure things out.
3.They live in their own sweet world and report as late as 10:00 AM and do not respect others who report on time and hence need to leave after the usual working hours.
Overall stay as far away from them for your own sanity.

    Advice to Management

Stop your unproductive body shopping ways and invest your resources wisely or in a qualitative manner. Strength in Number is NOT always a good thing.
Make sure you check how other people in other countries work before dragging the same old ways that you follow back in your country.
Keep your ethics up and pay people when you owe them instead of pocketing all the money that the contractors earn by working as needed.

    Pros

Good clients. Nothing to mention as pros

    Cons

Zero in employee care. Account management team very rude and treat employees like slaves. They expect you to work after office hours and over the weekends; No overtime or compensatory offs no matter how much extra efforts you put. If you raise voice against anything, you are being asked to leave the company.

No yearly increments, no proper recognition of talent, no bonus.

Internal departments and intranet sites are pathetic.

Never join this company if you are coming from like of IBM, Accenture, IBM. This company is nowhere near it

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like humans and not like donkeys

    Cons

I feel Infosys is a sin to IT Field in this world. It is full of politics , so people please so not join this Company instead help people and you will get good name and fame in this world.

    Advice to Management

Nothing as they are already corrupted

I have been working at Infosys as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good talk up front, then they prove they were lying.

    Cons

If you are an American and have the unfortunate lot to be employed by these scheming, cheating people, we're in the same boat. I had their recruiter tell me that I should trust them, because they weren't Bad People. I trusted them, and they have not only changed their mind on promises of reimbursement for relocation, but are threatening to fire me because I didn't follow their "guidelines" on double time reporting. They expect you to kiss their butts, but don't don't provide any training to meet their expectations. But they will hold you to those expectations.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are people with feeings, trying to do their best. Stop acting like little tin gods.
