I have been working at Ingersoll Rand full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very informative , great benefits, good pay, nice hours. Work life balance is good with this company. I would definitely recommend and family member or friends to join this company.

    Cons

Finding the right location for you. Satisfaction could vary depending on unemployment rates. Sometimes challenging at my location, unemployment is 2%.

    Pros

    Pay and benefits are good
    Campus is beautiful
Lots of great people to work with in the middle levels, but they are quickly getting beaten down .

    Cons

Treats people with little respect. Strategy is always short sighted and operates by the concept of constant chaos.

Their definition of work/life balance is that life = work at all times.

I've seen people criticized for things like taking a lunch during a 12+ hour work day or even needing to leave for a family emergency when it's inconvenient for the company at the given time.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the way your employees are being treated vs. letting numbers on paper tell you everything is ok.

I worked at Ingersoll Rand (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Cutting edge technology, premium quality equipment manufactured in the Buffalo plant

    Cons

Impossible to advance because there are more managers than workers. Managers refuse to, are prevented from, making decisions on their own.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be everyone's friend as a manager. Start making the hard decisions on your own using best judgment, and live with the RESPONSIBILITIES associated with being a manager.

I worked at Ingersoll Rand full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay was above average with great 401k. Hourly employees are great to work with, but I was salaried and had to work with some very disgruntled front office folks.

    Cons

No training at all. Onboarding is a joke for 2 weeks. A lot of ancient MRP processes that are very time consuming and redundant. The guy finally assigned to train me after I brought it up for 3 weeks was very hesitant to divulge information.

    Advice to Management

Incorporate some sort of user training into the onboarding process. The Southern Pines facility could really use some team building training.

I have been working at Ingersoll Rand full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Didn't really see much benefit. They promise one thing and do something else. There is a lot of emphasis on completing employee engagement survey but process seem rigged. None of us were happy.

    Cons

Leadership is rarely visible unless something goes wrong and then the focus is on finding an escape goat not a solution. Promises are made to customers but then not delivered on we seem to just patch things up constantly.

    Advice to Management

Get out of ivory tower spend time in the field and get your hands dirty.

Rigorous processes, lots of growth opportunities, excellent pay. A solid company with a very strong CEO.
