    Negative Outlook

I worked at Ingham ISD (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can learn a lot about our local education system. Some teachers and administrators are amazing people. You can work with a lot of different people.

    Cons

The pay isn't hardly worth the work you are required to do. Be prepared to be rudely treated most of the time by staff and students. Be prepared to be in sometimes dangerous situations where you're the only adult and the students don't listen to you.

    Advice to Management

Your substitute teachers keep your system a float, please learn how to speak kindly, give good directions, and check-in with them at least once during their time at your school.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Ingham ISD full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The benefits are great.
    Working with children.
They will pay for some schooling.

    Cons

Management has said that appearances matter more than reality and in a job where you are working with children I couldn't agree less. Most of management's time is spent looking for the next person to throw under the bus instead of providing a better environment for learning.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to start looking for ways to increase staff moral and witch hunting to make it look like you are doing something substantial.

  5. "It was a great working environment"

    Pros

ISD provided great ongoing professional development. They were very willing to send you out for different conferences and workshops. It had great working environment. People were all very friendly and supportive.

    Cons

The staff were all working at different local districts. I did not have lots of time spending with my own colleague.

    Advice to Management

Leader can open more communication channels between management and staff. Set aside couple days to build relationship within Ingham ISD staff.
