I have been working at Ingles Markets (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fair opportunity to change jobs within company to increase pay.

    Cons

Working holidays and blacked out days, otherwise very fair. Working out some times during holidays, lastly, too few holidays.

    Advice to Management

Maybe an incentive to learn another language to better communicate with employees

I have been working at Ingles Markets full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ingles is a smaller company with 200-250 Stores with just over 100 have a Pharmacy. Due to size they are still young to the pharmacy market which makes them more like an independent Pharmacy. Huge advantage is that people can drop off and shop better than other Grocery chains because they have such a large inventory with a wide variety, and are always adding more.

    Cons

Along with other chains, and due to diminishing reimbursements from the insurance companies, they have begun to cut tech hours to the bone forcing the Pharmacist to be like a one man band.

    Advice to Management

The whole idea of the Pharmacy in a grocery store is to "get them in the door", you can't do that if the public thinks that just because you have a drive thru doesn't make it like a McDonalds.

I have been working at Ingles Markets (Less than a year)

    Pros

When I interviewed, GM Sammie had been at this location 1 week since then he has been the best store manager I have ever had, 3 months later and he's still awesome!

    Cons

My immediate supervisor is kind of a hard "butt" some times, and the district manager visits every week, good for ingles, STRESSFUL for me! As with any other upper management visit the whole store goes uber perfectionist, I just want to do my job the way I do it everyday, cause if I do it the same all the time I never have to worry

    Advice to Management

Subdepartments... Stop micro managing! Tell ur employees what to do once, twice if you see they missunderstood, then leave them to do their work, if not satisfied with there performance review the results, don't come by every 5 min and say "did you do this", " make sure you do that", "I would do this"..... If you are going to keep interrupting progress and performance then just do it yourself!
OK that my little rant .... All in all really enjoy my work, CO workers are the best!

    Pros

You get the satisfaction of doing a skilled labor job, and you get to learn a lot about various meat products.

    Cons

You are always in a rush. You have to be nice to unpleasant customers. Your schedule is always changing from week to week. It is very hard work in many other ways too.

    Advice to Management

I don't know what I'm supposed to say here. I have no advice for anyone in management. I just have to type twenty words anyway I guess.

    Pros

well known employer, good hourly jobs and pay but mostly for students just starting out in the workforce or an additional income for those whom need it.

    Cons

moving slowly in raising their hourly pay up to standards with other competitors,

    Advice to Management

start raising the pay so you can attract employees other than highschool and college students whom quickly realize that this is a great job starting out but not for those trying to take care of family.
