I worked at Inglewood USD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great kids who need you! There are also some great principals.

    Cons

The district is bankrupt and under a state appointed superintendent. There is no, I mean no money. It is the lowest paid district in the state. The most motivated and functional students are leaving the district in large numbers, leaving the neediest kids in a system that lacks the resources to support them or help them succeed. I worked their for 4 years and was laid off in three of those years. They are projecting deep layoffs for the next academic year and pressuring the union to make major concessions in an already horrifically under compensated system.

I worked at Inglewood USD for less than a year

    Pros

While working I enjoy being able to do what I have been trained to do everyday and because it is something that I am passionate about it really doesn't seem like working just helping people with the benefits of being able to take care of myself as well.

    Cons

The fact that there are no spot for starting level Computer IT in the district is disheartening because I really enjoyed my time helping through testing season but now that it is over there won't hire anymore until next CAT test season, however I would really enjoy a full-tie position as entry level IT.

I have been working at Inglewood USD

    Pros

If you enjoy education and don't do it for the money, IUSD offers you an opportunity to make a difference in children's lives.

    Cons

Inglewood Unified School District is in receivership. Poor technology support district wide, many older retirement aged teachers who can't wait to get a raise so they can officially retire as many have "checked out" long ago. Overcrowding classrooms, lot's of bickering over little things (the usual) Way too much testing, way too little site support, old computers, no vision to bring District wide technology up to par with neighboring districts. No continuous useful training for teachers.

    I worked at Inglewood USD

    Pros

The exam for entrance wasn't too difficult. I had a good experience interviewing. Some of the people that I met are good people. School district vacation schedules.

    Cons

Very disorganized, budget issues, some underhanded practices at times. Some people are underqualified for positions that they hold. very overworked worked and underpaid at times. I would not send my children to any of the schools in this district.
