Ok place to work, but I holiday hours are horrendous

    Nov 3, 2022 - Picker/Packer
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Get your own work station, nice break room/cafeteria, cool and nice coworkers, no micro management, work independently- but with other people nearby, pay is decent ( not great), overtime $

    Cons

Overworked by mandatory overtime. Everyone likes to make extra $ now and then but the current OT demands are consuming most of our free time and most of us are exhausted and pissed off. Copied from another website: What Are the Negative Repercussions from Forced Overtime? While the immediate benefit to employees required to work mandatory overtime results in an increase in their pay check, there are some negative repercussions. Diminished morale among employees. Resentment of increased workloads. An increase in fatigue and stress among the staff. Employees may quit and take legal action against the employer.

    Good Benefits

Oct 21, 2022 - Inside Sales Representative in Nashville, TN

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Excellent benefits, sick time, vacation time, 2 personal days, 7 paid holidays, cafeterial style insurance so you can pick the type you want, Hybrid WFH schedule option

    Cons

Some managers are very Micro management, it took me 15 years to accrue 20 vacation days and you do not have access to them at the beginning of the year as the parse them out. No flexibility on the WFH hours or location.

It was fine. One of the better jobs I had despite being laid off.

    Oct 18, 2022 - Picker/Packer in Jackson, TN
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Being part-time, was able to have a good work life balance. Coworkers were mostly respectful, got along with everyone. The work was consistent and when it was busy went by fast.

    Cons

Higher ups were rude and deceitful. Early on they tried to keep us from the front breakroom because it was 'for the office workers'. Vending machines in front breakroom were cheaper for some reason?

    Valued and Compensated

    Oct 13, 2022 - Marketing Manager
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The salary is fair, in fact, it's pretty generous compared to other companies. The schedule flexible. The benefits are pretty good. And the culture is thriving with people who just love BOOKS!

    Cons

It's a little more challenging to advance until someone leaves or a new role is created but not impossible.
