I have been working at Ingram Micro full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Plenty of interesting projects, dynamic teams, great communication, and positive work environment and culture.

    Cons

Differences between business units. Countries operate independently. Lacks perks of smaller organizations (like free food, games, sponsored work parties etc)

    Advice to Management

Keep creating value and listen to your employees. Invest more in people than acquisitions.

    Pros

    Health Benefits and vacation time

    Cons

Allow gossip, drama, and favoritism. There's no training program and they run really LEAN.

    Advice to Management

Didn't they fire all of the managers?

I have been working at Ingram Micro full-time

    Pros

Time off and laid back atmosphere make this a dream job. The associates are nice and work hard. The management group, sups and lower managers, are close.

    Cons

Lack of communication between upper management and lower management needs work. Some days there are several different ideas of what is going on and some times you will not know if something has changed.

    Advice to Management

Communicate changes and intentions. Let operations run the operation instead of allowing support departments dictate operations.

I have been working at Ingram Micro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people and an over-abundance amount of food.

    Cons

Promotions and raises are slow. If you commit 10-15 years you can make a decent living but everything is truly vendor dependent. Some vendors are extremely hard to work for. Truly take the time to understand why a position is available and who you are working with. The turnover rate is shockingly high. I did not expect that from a fortune 500 company.

    Advice to Management

Invest in human capital. Spend less on food. The amount of food wasted is disgustingly high.

    Pros

    Good people, opportunities to network,
Good development opportunities if you take advantage of them or are a women, contribute a lot to charity

    Cons

Very numbers driven, too much drama, favorites are played, don't help find new positions that fit employee skill set, pay isn't a lot when you are expected to work all the time if you are salaried

    Advice to Management

Put people in positions they will succeed if they aren't, loose good people from being over worked and underpaid
