I worked at Ingram Micro full-time

    Pros

Good and fun team and people to work with.
    Diverse team.
    Structured processes.
Good experience to take to other IT companies.
Good training program, and good opportunities to network internally and with vendors.

    Cons

Personal career path can depend on relationship with immediate manager more than results.
Pay lower than IT industry average.
Some lack of flexibility, too many policies.
    Restructurings happen too often.

    Advice to Management

Do not restructure sale teams and compensation plans so often. Continue to invest in training and other development tools for employees.

I have been working at Ingram Micro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working for one of the Forbes 100 companies is a plus

    Cons

This company is not stable. People get hired and fired as the managers with most tenure want specially at SCC

    Advice to Management

Help develop your good employees, business decisions shouldn't be made because someone has a lot of influence and power.

    Pros

Worked closely with Ingram's Business Intelligence division. Awesome, smart individuals to work with.

    Cons

Every department across Ingram is not the same. Some teams are great environments, others are challenging.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Ingram Micro (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly atmosphere, and most of the time, everyone was more than willing to lend a hand if needed. I worked in an area where we had an open environment, but everyone seemed to get their work done and still have time for each other. Team work was always fun.

    Cons

Went through a few managers in a short period of time and then a large layoff happened. I know it is possible and they handled it a bit weird. Very hush hush and a lot of closed door meeetings.

    Advice to Management

Keep your staff in the loop even if it is not the best of circumstances...it will build trust in the long run.

I worked at Ingram Micro (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work for Ingram as an Inside Sales. What I like is that they offer competitive compensation. B2B sales. Challenging yet rewarding.

    Cons

Room for professional growth can be very limited even if you stay with the company for more than 5 years. No career development plans for its employees.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Some very good people trying to do the right thing. Fair compensation. Can be a fun place to work.

    Cons

Rather than addressing lack of strategy or communicating a vision of where we want to go, executive management just lays off more people to meet a cost-savings target given to the investment community.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate your strategy to EVERYONE.
