Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Pros

They provide ok Dental and Vision Insurance.

    Cons

If you work at Inmar and you are in the warehouse you are treated like a second class citizen. The company will not provide you with adequate supplies to keep and maintain cleanliness standards needed or deemed required. For training for your position in the warehouse. You get trained for two or three days and after that the trainer just watches you till the fifth day. Once your first week is over they don't bother to do much at all. There is a number quota they want everyone to meet but due to the lack of system upgrading and proper management the numbers are only reached by a select few people. The computer networking systems constantly freeze each day resulting in everyone getting lower numbers then they should be having. For holidays you will not get any that you want. Fourth of July is not getting taken off as the recognized holiday on the 3rd ;since it occurs on a weekend they decided to not have people work on the actual fourth of July with the Mandatory Saturdays that will not end. Christmas you only get Christmas Eve and day off, New Years you do not get any days off. The doors to the office used to be open before they moved so you could go and talk with Great Teams (HR) when you wanted, but since the move the only way you can get to them is if you ask security to let you in.

    Inmar's Response

Our associates who are working in our warehouses are held in highest regard and appreciation at Inmar. As you mention, there is a Great Teams (HR) Business Partner at your location. Please make an appointment to speak with them about your concerns. Cleaning supplies are being shipped regularly to our facilities and daily check-ins are done with site management to ensure they have what they need to comply with CDC guidelines. Your Great Teams resource can also work with the Technology team to research the computer issue you mention. We hope you will actively engage and collaborate with your contact to address your concerns.

    Pros

I worked for Inmar last summer & I can say that it was a very pleasant experience. I plan on working there again this summer. The people are friendly & helpful. They also are understanding to parents that have children.

    Cons

It is very hot in the warehouse.

The worst job I've ever experienced

Jun 14, 2017 - Warehouse Scanner in Fredericksburg, VA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. You're allowed to take donated products home with you at the end of the week.

    Cons

You stand in one place for 10 hours just scanning mindlessly. You're not allowed to listen to music or keep your phone on you, so you end up being incredibly bored with no way to track how far along you are in your day. You get dirty easily. No protection from potentially hazardous products or spilled products.
