Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Inmar is a great company and I think the CEO has great ideas for its future

    Pros

Inmar has excellent benefits and PTO. The dress code is comfortable, for the most part the people are great, and the atmosphere is professional but pretty relaxed.

    Cons

People who care about their jobs and clients/carriers in the Healthcare network are not able to advance because your not one of the favorites of a select few managers and/or they will go outside of the company without even getting the chance because of a recommendation. It has also been my experience and/or observation that going or talking to GreatTeams dug you deeper and does no good. There are some great managers here though.

    Inmar Response

    Inmar's Response

Thank you for caring about your work, our clients and carriers. You play a very important role in ensuring we improve as a team every day. Please take advantage of all the classes, certifications, etc. available to you through the Inmar Learning Program, which are available to help associates develop new skills for advancement. Also work with your manager to create a Career Development Plan so that your manager knows your aspirations for advancement and can help coach you as you pursue development opportunities to achieve your goals. Do know that Great Teams! takes seriously every conversation with an associate. Sometimes the results aren't immediately recognizable; each situation is different and often takes time. Thank you again for your commitment. Please work proactively and productively with your teammates, managers and Great Teams! to keep learning and growing as a professional and to keep Inmar moving forward each day!

    Pros

Good benefits and paid time off. Can be a stable work environment depending on what area/business unit you work in. Got along well with coworkers.

    Cons

Company tends to oversell what they can offer which often overworks the teams that have to deliver on these promises. Lack of opportunity for advancement.

    Great Culture, Easy Work

    Apr 25, 2022 - Software Engineer in Winston-Salem, NC

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The culture is great for someone starting out in their career. Everyone is always helpful and I never feel like I have to work extra to make sprint commitment. We have the option to stay remote right now which has saved a lot of money on gas. The work is easy enough as long as you pay attention and try.

    Cons

The benefits are quite expensive and don't fully cover everything. Promotions are rarely seen for people who are not already at a management level. Usually someone has to leave the company or change roles before we see any movement.

    Pros

Decent benefits and hours. Decent opportunity for growth if you happen to be in the right departments.

    Cons

Management was difficult to work for. Terrible training but yet they expected you to know things you were not properly trained in.

Great place to learn and work

Dec 24, 2020 - Software Engineer in Hyderābād

    Pros

The organisation does a great job of creating a fun environment that also motivates people to be their best. Provides positive work environment without any discrimination between an experienced employee and a fresher. High professional attitude amongst most of the employees. The managers are more like leaders than a boss, who always encourages the team mates. The Managers are highly approachable and very considerate. Any employee can approach the management on any regards with absolutely no hesitation. Every effort is recognised and is paid off at the right time. No blame game is payed at any instance. The organisation has a structured and impressive benefits in the pay scale including Medical benefits. Irrespective of the covid pandemic, work from home is positively encouraged.

    Cons

No cafeteria in the office. No transport provided by the office yet fuel reimbursement is there.

Look Closer, and don't be fooled by upper managements reviews to soften the truth.

    Pros

If you are young this is a great place to start. You have a job with benefits and the paid is better than most first offers. You are on the phones and working on the computer which is what most people under 25 are comfortable doing--you should get paid for it!

    Cons

Know that as you reach 15 years milestone that you will start seeing problems from upper management with you job performance. You have max you pay lever while taking on more job duties. The company will be once again pulling college students in at half your pay to do your job--and the cycle begins again. I'm still here, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

    No loyalty to employees

    Oct 3, 2014 - Software Developer
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The people that work there (non-management) are what make the place a good place. Before it was sold several years ago, it WAS the best place to work. Benefits are good - you get a lot of PTOs.

    Cons

The company does not value loyalty to its employees...employees who have been there for more than 10 years are being let go every day. They demand you work tons of hours and yet never reward you for any of it. It's expected, not appreciated.
