- "Employees feel under trained and under supported and nitpicked to death.Almost like managers are bored and have nothing to do but think of roadblocks to our job and assign an arbitrary value to it.Disregarding reality..Some employees feel like Managers need to be impartial as well and not reserve opportunities for personal friends." Fantastic atmosphere, job security, and great benefits.

I love working at Inmar, been here for several years. I have never worked anywhere that I have actually enjoyed going to work before coming here. Leadership team makes a big effort to keep the culture fun, happy and efficient. Location is perfect and benefits are great. Starting pay was good and training was well organized.
Cons
I have read many reviews where people are saying the leadership team is hiring there friends. I haven't seen any proof of this myself, even if they are previous associates I don't see why it matters. All new members of our leadership team have proven they deserve it.

Recent Leadership Re-Org has created some fear of the unknown.

Cons
Some folks who are not doing well with the changing pace should leave.

I Hate Going to Work Every Day
May 2, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Winston-Salem, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Some of the people are great to work with but they are slowly leaving the company.
Cons
Inmar is not the same company it was since new CEO David Mounts took over. The family atmosphere is long gone. They have moved way too fast into new services without a clue how to deliver. They have made digital promotions such a priority, pushing to sell but don't even have a department or trained, knowledgeable people to handle the clients. Sell it now and worry about how we are going to do it later. People change roles so fast that no one can keep up with who is doing what job. Very unorganized, lack of communication and processes. Some employees have double the workload they had a few years ago, where some have nothing to do. Expectations are very different for some. I honestly don't know why some people show up for work. Inmar could just mail their paycheck to them since they do nothing all day. Some associates are allowed to work from home, while others are not. Many associates work far less than 8 hours a day. They come and go as they please while others are working 10-12 hour days. They fired a lot of the good people that gave many years of dedication to the company and replaced them with young people who have no experience and are just there to climb the ladder. Most of the long time people at the executive level have left or gotten fired. They hired people in other states, working from home who have no clue. They sit at home all day and collect a fat paycheck. Those who have been with the company a long time are the ones doing all of the work. The new employees don't have a clue what they are doing and spend all of their time on committees and taking leadership classes. Inmar received tax incentives in exchange for providing 200 jobs to Winston Salem but they failed to disclose that they fired a lot of people to make room for those 'new' jobs. The new corporate office is a joke. Inmar spent over $60 million dollars and most employees hate the new building and location. The new building was not needed. The CEO just wants prestige and to look good in the industry. I know many associates who are actively pursuing other jobs. It is so sad that a once great place to work ,with dedicated employees who loved their job has come to this. I used to love my job but now I hate coming to work.

Strong company, but branching out in too many directions at once
Aug 26, 2020 - Ad Strategist in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent benefits, no person left behind mentality
Cons
Leadership seems interested in acquiring companies for the sake of acquiring companies; doesn't necessarily know what to do with them once the sale goes through.

Some nice people, low diversity and lacks gender equity in management
May 24, 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There are many great, well meaning people at Inmar. There are attempts to create a cohesive culture at the corporate headquarters in Winston-Salem. This does not always work, but the HR team tries to recognize employees and sometimes succeeds. There are also a number of training programs which can be of value.
Cons
The executive leadership is very focused on profit that primarily benefits a select few. There are attempts to do profit sharing but it's mostly not worthwhile for employees who are interested in growth and don't want to stay at a company for 20 years. It's also hard to get promoted - even amazing people languish, there are very few minorities who are managers. The leadership team is mostly dominated by white men with just one woman on the team. Also, because the company has been passed along through private equity companies, it often cannot make the best investments to make the company competitive. It's also got such a diverse number of products and networks that it is hard for the company to focus. The CEO often makes somewhat random mandates that lower morale - like not allowing employees to enter through the front door of the company.

Pros
Satisfactory place to begin a career right out of college. Good place to work if you need to gain experience and build your resume while assembling a network of colleagues and industry contacts. Most people at the company are pleasant to work with. Paid time off is above par for the industry.
Cons
Leadership is non-existent. Plenty of managers and directors, but no leaders. Rampant queen bee syndrome. Compensation is well below industry average. Bonus plan is sub-par. Company wants you to sell products and/or services to clients that don't exist. Several rounds of unexpected layoffs created a culture where employees felt dispensable. Company severely struggles with technology.

Dynamic workplace. Difficult to advance into senior ranks (a bit 'closed club'-ish).
Oct 14, 2014 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A diversified company that is well established, yet still forward looking striving to break into to business areas.
Cons
Leadership tends to keep their cards close to the vest and it can be difficult to follow. Challenges with frequent changing of direction. Growing pains.

Great and dedicated people with no leadership from executives to managers/supervisors..
Aug 27, 2014 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
People are hard working and dedicated. With the limited resources people have, they try and succeed in a lot of instances to get the job done.
Cons
Leadership seems disorganized and does not know who or what they want the company to be. The company has tried to morph into a technology company in the last five years which they truly aren't. They have lost sight of their clients and their needs and instead of servicing existing clients they just move on to the next big client once they have the client sign on the dotted line.
