    Pros

Employees & Integrity are the #1 priority, with
customer satisfaction a VERY close second.

    Cons

We need additional work on our technology to ease some of the administrative burden and processes.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on the employees, and our engagement with management. Open dialogue and Town Halls are VERY helpful.

    Pros

Relaxed work environment and easy job.

    Cons

Poor management and a lot of instability year after year. Management makes poor decisions and disregards employees opinions and advise. Location is incredibly inconvenient when you consider low potential for income and amount of income instability.

    Advice to Management

    Care about your employees.

I have been working at Innovative Funding Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked at IFS for almost 4 years. I have grown through my work as a person, professional, and my commissions have continuously been raised through hard work. The company is full of winners, and demands that employees have the same mentality.

I did not start out out as a confident business person out of college. IFS invested resources to train me to be a competent advisor, because they could see my eagerness to succeed. I have seen many of my fellow advisors (and the team that I lead) experience the same growth, and we are connected because of that desire to be better each day.

I have never seen a more positive outlook for growth. We are being truly innovative, because we have put in the hard work for the company to make those investments. Technological advancements are happening all the time, and our competitiveness in the marketplace is the strongest I have ever seen.

    Cons

With all commission jobs, you can expect a variable income. It's important that you manage your finances as such, or you may be stressed by spending too much during the great months.

As a finance advisor, you may have to put it non paid over time to reach the bonus you desire (there are different levels).

The learning curve requires some patience. Even when you think you have it down, you learn something new.

    Advice to Management

Keep the bar high for new hires. With the company at near capacity, now is the time to choose your space wisely.

I have been working at Innovative Funding Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Innovative Funding Services (IFS) is a great place to work at to start off. People here are laid back, and ready to help one another at every turn. The management has worked to better themselves over the time that I have been with the company, and has created a culture of communication with all employees. Management works well together to create new opportunities for the employees, and for ways to keep everybody engaged in the daily volume of work to be done.

There is no pressure to hit specific numbers as long as each employee is profitable. There is encouragement and direction available for any employee that may need a few tips or tricks on how to get to the next level in their personal numbers. When an employees numbers are low management will discuss what is causing the change to see if there is anything that can be done to help that individual.

You can make serious money at this company. If you are dedicated when you are at work it is amazing the amount of income that you can attain. It is like any other position in which you get out of it what you put into it. There are bonuses to attain that are not difficult to reach, but they do force you to put in a little more time through the month.

Management gives opportunities to develop in many different ways. From training to become a manager to assisting with personal life situations. I have been a part of a few different concepts to help grow the business beyond where we were at, and it helped me to grow professionally and personally. Technology helps to make our jobs easier, and management is always seeking new ways to help reduce the work load while increasing the income for employees.

    Cons

Even with the great people that work at IFS there are some definitive lines that are drawn between specific employees and departments. This is not the doing of management, but it is set in place by the employees. This can create an uncomfortable situation that is not beneficial to the actual way that the company operates.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing and grow the business. Even though things haven't panned out with some of the large business deals that have been in the works, there have been very big opportunities that have opened up in the interim. It is tough to place timelines when you are not in control of the timeline, but you are doing as good as possible with the information that you have been given.

I worked at Innovative Funding Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Growth, growth, growth. They're growing rapidly, and you can decent money. Yes, you will have to put in the hours, but the money is there. Commissions are okay, but all the money is in the bonus, which are attainable even for an average sales person who will put in the hours.

The environment is really relaxed. You enjoy coming into work, and peers are not trying to step on you to get up the corporate ladder. They're are a lot of opportunity for you to grow if you show the dedication and put the work. I went from Finance Advisor to Sales Manager in two and half years (I left the company two months into my new position).

Upper Management, Rob Mckie and Tim Janssen, are the best sales guys out there. They know the business and can trust them to guide and coach you to success. They don't say no, especially to people looking to move on up. Bobby Bramlett has done a great job managing the work flow process and cuttings costs, as he understands how to grow and develop a business. David McIlvain is a one man wrecking crew who lenders love because he is extremely detail oriented and honest.

    Cons

Slow processes. Relying on a few lenders, but it does takes time to build a good portfolio to get new lenders. They restructured the company and have some new sales managers, and everyone has a different style of managing.

    Advice to Management

Metrics can only take you so far. You'd be surprised how far some encouragement and coaching will take your sales floor. Train your managers to work together and actually teach FA's to succeed. Address the floor whenever they see a dip in income so that they know you actually care. Focus on the money and partners you already have, rather then keeping everyone hoping and waiting for a big partner. Don't promote people just because they have great numbers, promote people that can actually lead and coach.
