    Pros

Competetive salary compared to other VARs

    Cons

Horrible horrible benefits. 401k is sad, high deductible insurance in which the deductible is impossible to meet, ridiculous PTO - really doesn't make you feel like a valued employee.

    Pros

Best systems tools to support field folks

    Cons

lots of internal politics happening inside executive level

    Advice to Management

Get down to the field. Do not rely on middle management. Ensure your marching orders are understood, felt all the way in the grassroots. More often, your middle management filters what is happening at field level

    Pros

Great first line management, there are some very solid people that care about their employees.
Lots of effort is made to keep the work day fun and friendly.

    Cons

    Poor senior management
    short term thinking
This is a place for college grads to get their feet wet. But it would be wise to have a career plan that includes what you will do next.

    Advice to Management

Start developing higher margin business. Look for and identify where the market is going, and try to get there sooner, rather than later.

I have been working at Insight full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are knowledgeable, ambitious, friendly and always willing to assist. Flexible work environment. Variety of work.

    Cons

The benefits in general are just OK. Health Benefits are poor it’s a high premium, high deductible, low coverage HSA. 401k match is low average, not what you might expect from a Fortune 500 company. Incentive programs are limited to non-existent for non-management or non-sales employees and If you're not sales, you don't get ANY of the perks.

    Advice to Management

If you want to retain long-term the employees you have. Take note of how your competition treats their employees creating a sense of team for everyone, not just sales. Reduce upper management bonuses and share the success with the people that make it happen every day. It takes a team to make a touchdown not just the quarterback and the wide receiver. It’s all the little everyday perks and a feeling of inclusion that make a company great to work for.

    Cons

    Pros

    Great atmosphere and terrific people!

    Cons

Base Pay is way too low!

    Advice to Management

Increase the base pay and have experienced sales people start in SMB or corporate immediately and pay them $60K+ while they build their book. Impossible to support a family on $40K and you will continue to lose people. The atmosphere is great though so don't change the culture. Have the "just out of college" or no sales experience work SOHO.

I have been working at Insight full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of entry level openings and opportunity. Some career growth and training. Uncapped commissions.

    Cons

Systems are horrible. Sales support is atrocious. Most non-sales people are paid near the bottom of industry average and therefore are often mediocre, apathetic, overworked, and indifferent. Reps and clients are impacted negatively by these factors daily and upper management is either unaware or complicit in this lack luster environment.

    Advice to Management

Hire and retain the best. Quite trying to be good enough. Insight could easily come together and me a phenomenal company but you are only as strong as your weakest link and Insight has a ton of weak links.
