    Pros

    Environment, resources, opportunity, events, partners

    Cons

Favoritism from management/upper management, Compensation changes after year 1, and consistent distractions pulling you away from your day to day work

    Advice to Management

Support the front line reps more, identify problems, and help with growth. Identify what the reps goal is and work to help them achieve it. Do not play favorites with friends, everyone should be treated equally.

I worked at Insight full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great People, and a good cafeteria.

    Cons

They cut our pay by over 30% in the first 6 months! I read the same thing on Glassdoor and brought this up to them. They said "we don't do that anymore." They lied. They needed to make their numbers for Wall Street, so they cut the new producers pay by over 30%. We weren't making that much to begin with! None of the Executives took a pay cut. Poor leadership at the C-level.

    Advice to Management

Don't introduce pay cuts and commission changes when you agree to hold it constant for 2 years. If a pay cut is needed, it should be EVERYONE!

    Pros

Great team dynamic and culture, fun place to work with lots of activities and things to win, M-F hours - no weekends or holidays!

    Cons

Not necessarily different than most companies these days but I wish the benefits were better (high deductible plans). No maternity leave. I do know they are working on it though.

    Insight Response

I worked at Insight as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some friendly people that work in the department. Benefits are decent and they have a medical office on site.
The vendors that are brought in are great usually buying us food and coffee weekly.

    Cons

    Low pay
    no room for advancement
Attendance policy is a joke! Company gives you sick time but you are penalized if you use it in this department.
A lot of favoritism going on
no raises for doing extra jobs
you take calls for multiple accounts with little to no training
They hire management from the outside instead of promoting from within the department
It is a circus in that department with no real policy put in place
    Managers lie to you
you are belittled if you give an opinion or you were told something different
the list can go on and on

    Advice to Management

Put policies in place and stick to them! Train your agents. I feel company management not department management needs to step in and clean house.

    Pros

Culture is 100% up, down and across the org. It's for real. You can find a company where value is placed on the person and their contribution. Teamwork is expected and demonstrated.

    Cons

It's a fast pace, but it's just the pace of technology and business in general these days.

I have been working at Insight full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

*People in marketing department work together to figure out tough problems which creates a sense of accomplishment
*Unlike other companies I've worked for the teammates in marketing are eager to do their best and don't compete against each other which allows everyone to work together
*Drama and politics aren't tolerated by management. They help any conflicts between teammates to be resolved privately and quickly as opposed to other companies I've been at and quite frankly there's very little conflicts
*So many people are positive and leadership gives everyone the ability to utilize their skills by forming cross functional teams to solve problems as opposed to just having the managers take care of it without getting opinions and resolutions from the people that actually do the jobs
*Leadership team really wants everyone to shine and genuinely cares about the teammates. I often see the VP of Marketing walking amongst the teammates asking how everyone is doing - I've never seen that at other companies

    Cons

*Its a fast paced environment with a lot of things on our plates - not for the faint of heart or someone that is just trying to climb the corporate ladder
*Culture is infectious so if you're a party pooper and negative you're not going to be able to be successful

    Advice to Management

Executive leaders across the entire organization should follow marketing's lead. The VP of Marketing is always sending notes encouraging career and personal growth and even takes time to meet each new team member face to face for 30 minutes!
