I have been working at Insitu full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Solid colleagues here-everyone is so kind and supportive. The culture is one of success and caring. They have four pillars to the culture and they walk the talk when it comes to culture. When I joined I could never have predicted how happy I am today. It takes a leap of faith to join a company like this that isn't a big consumer name but I love that I'm part of something with a great mission.

    Cons

Lots of acronyms. Get the app and it gets easier. Snow and ice in the gorge can be a bummer.

    Advice to Management

Keep focus on transparency. Have high expectations of employees.

I worked at Insitu full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, good pay and benefits.

    Cons

    Product stagnating
If your not an ex-military officer you wont get promoted/hired.
    Nepotism amoungst ex-military employees.
    Poor management holding employees accountable.

    Advice to Management

Completely clear house of the human resource department. It has been a complete shame since 2006. Horrible hiring practices, no qualified department employees, poor service for current employees and prospective candidates.
Housing costs and location are barriers but the true issue with growing the company still is complete lack leadership in HR. No call backs, weeks of waiting and lack of company policies and procedures and product.

I have been working at Insitu full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Corporate culture is one of inclusion, diversity and caring, but with a pioneering and performance focus. The team has genuine relationships with each other and that transcends the challenges of everyday work life. There is a culture of accountability and responsibility and the executive management team is working hard to improve constantly. This is not a place where people go to 'cruise'. It is a place where people go to work hard and achieve.

    Cons

Some of the processes, which are governed by Insitu's large parent, are at odds with the pace and agility of the company itself. At times that can be a drag.

I have been working at Insitu full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people all around, they take good care of their own. Our products and services play a vital role supporting our military and keeping them safe. The company is extremely veteran friendly; it's great to work with fellow veterans and still have some of the camaraderie from our active duty time.

    Cons

Not enough time with my family. Unfortunately that's why this job is not a permanent option for us.

    Advice to Management

Allow more FSR's the new deployment option of 3 months on 3 months off (not only to 7+ yr employees/site leads). This is a better work/life balanced rotation that could be sustained long term. Since we are only paid while deployed, not everyone will choose this option but those who don't mind the pay cut like myself will be able to stay with the company for the long run.

I have been working at Insitu full-time

    Pros

Challenging and dynamic business and industry.
    Amazing flexibility and work schedules!
Great benefits and support from the organization - work hard, play hard is the unofficial motto and time off is protected and considered precious.
Room to grow and challenge yourself daily, there is never a dull moment.
Focus is on employee culture supported by four pillars: Pioneer, Perform, Unite & Care.
Employees have access to leadership on a daily basis.

    Cons

Rapid growth causes pains, this is the only reason I rate it 4 stars and not 5.
Pace of work is very fast.

    Advice to Management

More cross-coordination needed between departments, some are resistant to change and it creates road blocks and causes friction when obvious improvements can be made.
Embrace processes to make the company more efficient and so that new employees can learn their jobs faster.

    Cons

    Dwell time for deployed personnel

    Advice to Management

    1. A 2:1 dwell is not enough for deployed personnel to reset, please get it closer to 1:1.

    2. Theirs currently no set career path for Operators. No one knows how to level up

    3. The pay system in regards to hardship and danger premiums does not make sense. How can Insitu say we are only in harms way 8 hrs a day instead of the full 12 hrs while deployed.

Improve those 3 items, Insitu should be able to retain their Operators and MC's longer
