I have been working at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the employees that have been here for a long time struggle with the fast paced environment.

    Cons

I cant think of any! We have great benefits, wear jeans everyday, play foosball and pingpong at lunch, flexible work hours....what more can you ask for? The leadership team is very laid back and friendly which is very rare and nice to see.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Pros

The people - some of the nicest and most sincere people I've ever worked with in my career. Those I'm surrounded with care about their work, one another and the integrity of the business. This is a fast-paced environment. The new workspace is open and offers lots of choices and flexibility. Love all the natural light. Self-starters, creative-thinkers and natural problem solvers do well.

    Cons

Not enough hours in the day.

    Advice to Management

Continue communication cadence as this makes for better understanding of company goals.

    Pros

Managers do their best to ensure good work/life balance and keep their team happy. Great growth opportunities through training. Very happy with the team and the department.

    Cons

Same cons as any IT job, after hours work is a must but this need is becoming less and less.

I worked at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Indoors, good break room, solid computers with triple monitor setup, fast network and helpful knowleadgeble staff. Satellite office is located near a highway, so commute was quite swift. Secure underground parking garage.

    Cons

Immediate supervisors were "power tripping", I was told not to use the e-mail and VOIP even though we have freedom of speech as US citizens. Immediate supervisors had no integrity; meaning, they did not follow their verbal promises/agreements with e-mail communication or actual results.

    Advice to Management

listen to efficiency improvement ideas and apply in practice, instead of thinking you are the dictators of the place. Also, don't cause stressful situations by freaking out about minute details that don't really matter when it comes to the bottom line.

I have been working at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None per se. Work is pretty laid back more than half the people (60-70%) in the company are non-value adds and non-performers. The Company provides MSDN subscriptions for full-timers, which I think most of the companies do nowadays. They did start a work from home policy(1 day a week) recently.

    Cons

Don't expect to implement or suggest any new technologies, tools or process improvement methods. You will be shot down. All you have to do to get up the ladder is suck up to the supervisors and managers. Who themselves are not qualified enough to be at that position. Everyone above the position of developers have big egos and finicky attitudes. They themselves can't remember what they said in the last meeting and change there ideas quickly with only one goal to try to impress their seniors. No employee welfare or benefits. Quarterly meetings are a farce and it is only a hogwash. Too many team members in a team with really no substantial projects available.

    Advice to Management

The top management is not in sync with the current market and they need a total reboot.
