I worked at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced and always something going on. Never a dull moment. Food on auction days. Tuition reimbursement

    Cons

Worked here for many years. Certain members of the management at my branch were very unprofessional-talks on the phone in the bathroom and used floss in his office during meetings as well as engaging in inappropriate interactions with people who came to help during hurricane Sandy.. If you kissed up enough there enough you get "promoted"( let's be real, there are no promotions at Iaa) there was one manager there that was awesome and should be the manager. HR dept for the region is totally useless and wouldn't do much to help the employees at all.

    Advice to Management

Clean house of all the dead weight so it's an enjoyable place to work.

I worked at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It WAS a great company that, led by a super management team, grew the company from 48 locations in 2001 to over 160 locations in the US and Canada.

    Cons

Once Tom O'Brien, the former CEO, retired IAA was "taken over" by KAR, the overall parent company. KAR is a bureaucratic, cannot make a decision, clown camp. The senior management team is arrogant, stupid and does not care whatsoever about employees. Their attitude is "If you don't like it here, leave."

    Pros

good group of people to work with, very multinational

    Cons

Unfavorable company policies make a lot of customers upset an angry, which they take out on customer service agents.

    Advice to Management

Management should deal with some customer concerns directly instead of sending everything to voice mail and never getting back.
