    I worked at Integra Telecom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    I worked for Integra for almost 3 years. It wasn't perfect but there were Good people, remote work, good location. Integra used to mean something. Good customer service, great response time. As a former customer of Integra I was impressed that I would get responses so quickly.

    Cons

    And then about 2 years ago they decentralized. Then they they decided to sell us off to Zayo. We got shafted. Our customers are getting shafted. They don't care about quality customer service. They don't care about being a quality company. They cut pay, laid off most of the experienced workforce, and basically told both employees and customers to suck it. We don't have enough techs or employees to handle the work loads and they just let more go. They've shuffled jobs off to people who have no idea how to do the job and so communication and processes are just falling further and further out of line.

    Advice to Management

    Since we're zayo and no longer integra I can't tell Integra management what they should do but this is what Zayo should do: Actually treat your employees like you want them to stay around. Start getting back to providing excellent service and stop cutting back. Prove you're worth our time and effort. Offer growth opportunities. Zayo doesn't even believe in pay raises, they just want to offer possible bonus structures. Bonuses don't pay the bills.

    I worked at Integra Telecom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    None. This was once an awesome company to work for, but it went downhill fast once the Board pushed Dudley out the door.

    Cons

    The company was acquired by Zayo. Not sure how working for them is going, but towards the end, there was nothing good about working at Integra other than they did have some good people left, but most of them were forced out the door.

    Pros

    Freedom to work remotely was a plus. Worked directly with all Repair groups to resolve trouble issues with design changes as needed

    Cons

    Some repair groups did not completely test & isolate trouble correctly before requesting design changes

    Advice to Management

    recreate a team that works directly with repair (outside of the normal order flow) to resolve issues in a timely manner

    Pros

    Customer service & support from real people was its niche. It still is at the ILEC in Prior Lake.

    Cons

    The CLEC business in the Minneapolis metro is essentially no more. It was separated to be ELI which was purchased by Zayo. The low rating is for the CLEC. It is not reflective of the ILEC in Prior Lake.

    Pros

    I loved working for Integra/ ELI. Unfortunately, they sold out and let go of a good portion of the loyal employees that made it a success.

    Cons

    Those of us that stayed with the new company following the acquisition are pretty unhappy. More work, less pay and #noteffortless for employees.

    Advice to Management

    You shouldn't have sold. At the very least you should have negotiated better conditions for employees that stayed on.

    Cons

    Both the Training & Benefits were bad. They didn't know how to take care of their employees or customers.

    Advice to Management

    I hope everything gets better now that Zayo purchased them.
