    Pros

    Freedom to work remotely was a plus. Worked directly with all Repair groups to resolve trouble issues with design changes as needed

    Cons

    Some repair groups did not completely test & isolate trouble correctly before requesting design changes

    Advice to Management

    recreate a team that works directly with repair (outside of the normal order flow) to resolve issues in a timely manner

    Pros

    Customer service & support from real people was its niche. It still is at the ILEC in Prior Lake.

    Cons

    The CLEC business in the Minneapolis metro is essentially no more. It was separated to be ELI which was purchased by Zayo. The low rating is for the CLEC. It is not reflective of the ILEC in Prior Lake.

    Great individual employees, decent bonus structure.

    Poor leadership, below market salary

    Advice to Management

    start caring more about your employees and customers not your profits. After the acquisition of Eschelon and change in leadership, the focus seemed to shift away from our previous customer satisfaction model to purely profit, no balance. Employees in customer service, provisioning and repair were forced to push money over customer experience and satisfaction from not having enough techs to install services in a timely manner to charging customers when services had not been installed correctly or at all. They provided less of the little things that kept employees happy (parties, catering, etc) and the employees leaned on each other to keep moral up by setting up potlucks throughout the year, nothing on the company dime. My advice would have been start putting people over profit, but since they have been acquired by Zayo, it's too late.

    Pros

    Decent benefits, ability to work from home when needed, decent work/life balance

    Cons

    Poor Management to Management, and Management to subordinate communications. Either too many people working on the same thing, or no one is working on it. Very few advancement opportunities, especially for employees who are not located at the headquarters.

    Better PTO than average. Good/mediocre benefits (compared to what is out there now).
    401k.

    Cons

    All promotions are based on friendships/relationships and/or physical appearance or a base level exterior perspective. Very Very rarely is it based on merit/facts/performance/tenure/logic. Someone somewhere should be embarrassed, it is truly that bad. Unfortunately no one is, I can assure you of that.

    Advice to Management

    Upper management and executive level leadership are at the root of the larger issues.
