I have been working at Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High pay, free clearance, some nice employees

    Cons

Bad hr department, management is unethical, smoking in building, etc

Tried to mess with my unemployment and claim I was fired for cause, when I was temporarily laid off for a 6 month period.
    Unethical!!!!!!!!

If you get an interview, just dont go. Not worth the headache.

    Advice to Management

Start worrying about running the business professionally versus overspending for vacations and mistresses.

Laid me off without reason with no severance pay.

I worked at Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The back office staff is very friendly and willing to assist when needed. There are a lot of nice employees and contractors that work for ICS. Ability to obtain Security Clearance.

    Cons

This is the most unethical place in which I have ever worked. Internal management tactics are very questionable to say the least. If you disagree with the CEO or other Executive Management, you will be on the target list. Management fosters an environment based on fear and most of the time you feel like you are walking on eggshells. The majority of employees walk around the office wondering who will be fired next. The CEO's mood is the mood of the office. If he is in a bad mood, watch out. He will yell and scream and use obscenties without thinking twice. The way in which Management treats employees is unfathomable. Employees are constantly mistreated and put down in front of other team members. I have never been treated so poorly by an employer as I was treated at ICS. The Executive Team smoke in the building - how unprofessional!

    Advice to Management

Management needs to take a good look in the mirror. Running an ethical company may not be as difficult as you think. Treat people with respect as your employees are your greatest asset. Watch frivolous spending and use that money to reward your employees.

I worked at Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Benefits package is ok.

If you play your cards right, you pretty much never have to show up for work with their "work from home" policy.

    Very nice office facility.

    Cons

The management staff at ICS thrive on thuggish fear tactics. If you do not give them the answer that they want to hear, they threaten you, belittle you, and generally try to intimidate you.

Eggshells are everywhere, so get used to walking on them. It was normal practices by headquarters employees to hide in their offices if one of the management staff was "having a bad day".

Only pays the employees once a month. It also doesn't help things the checks bounce, or are delayed from hitting the employees bank accounts.

Management staff smokes heavily in the building. Are we in the 70s again?

    Highly unethical business practices.

    Advice to Management

Close the doors and sell the company to someone who can actually run a business because you are going nowhere fast.

Just remember that this company sank because of greed, arrogance, and ignorance.

I have been working at Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Compensation, good office space, company will put you in for a clearance, flexible hours.

    Cons

ICS employees often times are subject to pay cuts, layoffs, no pay at times. The nepotism is also a huge issue. If you are not family, or "in" with the CEO, you will constantly be in jeopardy of losing your job. It's a reactive environment which creates negative competition between peers and subsequently backstabbing for fear of being terminated. Management believes in driving employees with fear.

    Advice to Management

Realize that the only reason you're still in the game is because you've had stellar employees who have given up, more than you can imagine, to make ICS successful. The board should also create a monthly budget for the CEO's personal spending that comes out of employee salaries.

I worked at Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A wonderful dedicated staff of people who work very hard for the company. They offer good health insurance benefits that start from the 1st day of employment and they offer a fairly competitive salary.

    Cons

It is a small family owned business, and unless you are family or you are "in" with the management team, there is very little opportunity for growth and personal development within the company. A select few are handsomely rewarded multiple times a year while the rest of the lower level and contract employees struggle to even receive regular performance evaluations.

The company offers no 401K matching, and they only pay employees once a month. For employees who are not getting huge paychecks, this can cause quite a financial strain.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as an asset. Reward the employees who are the heart and soul of your company, because when they are gone, you are not going to have much of a company left.

I worked at Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I loved the job itself and was compensated well. It was challenging, I did meet some great people, and learned more about the industry.

    Cons

ICS is family owned and ran and to put it simply: it isn't possible to keep it professional 100% of the time. Unfortunately, an outsider doesn't stand a chance of making a long term career because if one person has an unfavorable opinion of you, the everyone does (even if it is not true and all your doing is your job better and can prove it if given the chance.)

    Advice to Management

Be honest, un-biased, and use better judgment. Listen to all of your employees concerns and take appropriate action if needed, related or un-related.

    Pros

Benefits are excellent. Management is very approachable. They promote a team spirit which attributes to the success of the company.

    Cons

Smaller companies have limited resources therefore many of us wear several hats to get a job done. This is the nature of a smaller company though and we all understand.

    Advice to Management

Keep the company philosophy, " Our employees are our biggest asset." It says a lot about a company that respects it's employees and realizes their worth.

    Pros

Friendly staff, small company to say that its family oriented though it is indeed a profitable company. The management staff will work with you with any issues that you may happen

    Cons

Below the average salary margin for the position, benefits has reduce in 2009. Opportunity to grow, move around to other projects may not be easily accessable

    Advice to Management

Working at ICS, Inc has been good experience. Compensation does also make a difference in how employees performs. Some of the perks that ICS offers are great.
