I have been working at Integrated Device Technology full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Medium size company, nimble, big enough to provide large company type operational excellence, very good benefits, excellent CEO/CTO/CSO. Manageable politicking, competent people, very good campus, vibrant culture, cafeteria and free gym. Executive staff very friendly and approachable. Unlike other companies where CEO hides behind six doors in a bunker, this CEO walks around and hangs out with "little" people and remembers their names. CTO is fantastic human being and thinks long term and big. He is the best CTO I have seen in my career. Sales organization is the best I have seen thus far. Company thrives on its good relationships with end customers.

    Cons

Doesn't want to get into consumer market too much (except wireless charging) and too focused on its niche market segment (not a bad con, is it?) some groups are little "too" lean and risk poor execution and sometimes disappoint customers.

    Advice to Management

Take more measured risks and remember "not all those who wander are lost." Cash in the bank isn't doing anybody any good. So invest in R&D and more strategic areas (automotive, as an example, is being disrupted so get in now). I think wireless charging efforts should be de-emphasized or unit should be sold altogether as it does not align with company's area of expertise. Buy bulk membership to consortia (IEEE, CPES to name few). All in all, bright people, bright future for this company.

I worked at Integrated Device Technology full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great people, strong technology, well-equipped

    Cons

Long hours of technical staff unappreciated by management. Projects very poorly managed, most teams out of control.

    Advice to Management

Identify a corporate strategy and target markets and stick with it. IDT never has.

    Pros

Dedicated employees struggling to keep things moving

    Cons

Resources cut to nothing, archaic data systems, abusive management

    Advice to Management

Good luck losing the shareholder chokehold. Without investment in new technology there is no hope.

I worked at Integrated Device Technology full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good people who stick together and support each other. Wide breadth of products.

    Cons

Not very fast moving or ambitious attitude or change the world mentality. Most of the time seemed happy to be a player rather than the leader in a field.

    Advice to Management

Look to become a leader in a significant market.

I worked at Integrated Device Technology part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great mid size company to wprk for if you want to work somewhere that makes you feel like you are part of a family. Most of the staff is awesome (individual contributors all the way to Ted the CEO). Great location to major freeways. Company parties throughout the year (on campus).

    Cons

Forget getting recognized for a job well done (unless you are in Sales or an Engineer). Some of the staff in Corp Marketing treat their employees like slaves/"girl friday". People like to take the credit for all your hard work and give you no recognition.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees with respect and appreciation. Pay attention to those ethics and compliance classes because some of you are in TOTAL violation.

I have been working at Integrated Device Technology full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Chance to work on some of the most impactful technology in the semiconductor industry. Good culture for managing life around work, but make no mistake, work related pressure/deliverables/requirements is 24/7

    Cons

Difficulty in maximizing growing some projects in the future due to being publicly traded and must meet margins each quarter so some promising projects don't get funded, but this is no different than most public companies

    Advice to Management

Nothing in particular. I've been through 5 rounds of management in 10 years at the company and each round the strategy changes with the new leaders.
