    Pros

Good compensation, stock has been up considerably in last year. New CEO seems to be more focused on key objectives.

    Cons

Politics at senior management level, too many changes all the time. Lack of consistency.

    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I worked at Integrated Device Technology full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company feels, and is, quite small despite being public. One can have a significant impact at IDT.

    Cons

The company is struggling to define itself. Being a small cap company, it still tries to maintain a broadline product portfolio which makes it very difficult for BUs, manufacturing and sales to succeed. Further, constant senior management changes prevent the company from executing on any plan in any meaningful way.

    Advice to Management

IDT ought to be sold to a broadline semiconductor company that can support its disparate product lines. Otherwise, it ought to divest from nearly all businesses other than silicon timing products, which are its bread and butter.

    Pros

The current CEO seems to be forward-thinking and has made some necessary changes to help the company grow. He is willing to make bold moves that are designed to help the company.

    Cons

Some members of the senior management team don't seem to fully appreciate the hard work or high productivity of their employees.

    Advice to Management

Re-assess some of the senior management in place. Some of their decisions could be sending the wrong message to employees.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Integrated Device Technology

    Pros

Low pressure in project schedule if you are not too slow in mind. Small site for good communication and quite working hours. Good CAD team to support your work.

    Cons

Technical competence is limited. Poor geometric location so that limited opportunities. People are becoming defensive and "Yes Man" style to save their jobs. Management doesn't respect your ideas when they are different from his own. Limited career path since the senior management can go no where else but staying ahead of you.

    Advice to Management

    Respect different ideas.

I have been working at Integrated Device Technology

    Pros

You are rarely asked to work long hours.

    Cons

There are so many... A recent change in senior management has the company going after small markets already dominated by big players.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the few areas that IDT engineering is good at, instead of venturing out to unfamiliar territories where IDT has no expertise.

    Pros

ok benefit if economy doing ok free gym center onsite

    Cons

incompetent senior management that's as bad as you can get in a company. IDT recent generations of top management did many damage to the company, it's amazing how board tolerate them for so long and everytime there's chance to improve they pick ones of same breed.

    Advice to Management

Learn from the mistake of your ancestors not repeating them.

Applications Engineer in Santa Clara, CA

I worked at Integrated Device Technology

    Pros

Good work environment, most of the employees are very nice and eager to help. Divisions share information openly. Did not feel like there was any inter-department competition. For the most part, management encouraged you to develop your career through training. Very relaxing atmosphere, no pressure to meet deadlines or tape out dates. Flexible hours, very few worked more than 40 hours a day.

    Cons

A very slow moving company, senior management doesn't like changing with the times. Everyone moves at a snails pace, and In the semiconductor industry that means the company gets only to participate in niche markets with little chance for growth. Many employees are in retirement mode, so they take 2 hour lunches and work about 4 hrs a day max. Not many are willing to go the extra mile to excel. Very limited... chance for promotion. Sometimes it feels like working for the government.

    Advice to Management

Take a risk! Get into growing markets. Make IDT more fast paced environment. Challege senior managers to get out of their comfort zone. Stop designing products that have been obsolete for years. Need to hire a CTO that really understands new technologies and the market.
