I worked at Integrated Electrical Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    NONE, none, none, none, none

    Cons

Public Held Corporation and they do not have the Heart Beat of the electrical construction market. One of the worst places I have ever worked.

    Advice to Management

Go back to being a Privately held company and get rid of the HR BS.

I worked at Integrated Electrical Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very few other than some very good techs and admin.

    Cons

Seriously reconsider taking a position with this company if it is offered to you. Unfortunately I took one and truly regret it. There are better firms out there to work for.

    Advice to Management

The one word that comes to mind is inept. Any advice is truly fruitless.

    Pros

Great company. Despite having a turnfall in 2008, the company has taken great strides in climbing back up. There are pretty exciting projects to work on.

    Cons

    - Pay is below market
    - 401K benefits match aren't even worth bringing up
    - Can be difficult to move up

    Pros

Honestly nothing. Benefits package and 401k but that's pretty standard. I was looking for a company that I wanted to work for. I took a pretty significant pay cut to work here because I wanted to get out of what I was doing. Complete waste of my time.

    Cons

Everything. Expectations are very high with zero training. They want you to travel away from your family for 6 months to a year at a time while sharing a room with someone in the cheapest hotel they find. You are treated like crap and HR is a joke also.

    Advice to Management

Pfft. They don't give a hoot. Military Bros just looking out for their own bonuses.

    Pros

Work was fairly steady, normal slowdown around the holiday, but otherwise i got my hours and some overtime.

    Cons

Management was disconnected from the teams in the field. Did not show much care for their people. They talked about safety but ultimately it was all about finishing the job ahead of schedule and under budget. Very little training and development opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Look to invest in your people and help create an enviroment that fosters the team mental that is needed to be successful on projects.
