I worked at Integrated Merchandising Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefit package, insurance is fantastic. Work from home one day a week.

    Cons

Some teammates drag others down significantly. Uneven workload that management ignores. Excepts a culture of imbalance, short on staff - workers need to cover other accounts when they are busy.

    Advice to Management

IMS has a poor corporate culture. They are extremely top heavy with way too many Executive VP's, Senior VP's and regular VP's, all of these people earn in excess of $100K. IMS terminated 30 operations people a few months ago in an effort to reduce their overhead, none of the highly compensated VP's were in this group. They are all "buddies" and protect each at the
expense of the people who do the real work. Competitors see them as being weak, they use clerks to do estimates and production rather than having experiences professionals. They have not had a serious new business win, with the reduction of McD's business due to the new electronic menu boards I do not see a bright future.
Bottom line you need to take the senior level managers off their high horse and treat everyone better.

    Pros

Very good IT systems and good people in finance, account management, production and IT departments. Open door policy throughout the company and good support.

    Cons

Like most organizations, favoritism does play a part in day to day decisions, communications, promotions, raises and management decisions.

    Advice to Management

Like President Trump is finding out, you cannot motivate and manage any organization by intimidation. Lead and be honest about the challenges facing the company.

I have been working at Integrated Merchandising Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefit package. Work from home one day a week. Some co-workers are very hardworking, smart, and dependable. Overall focus is about good client service.

    Cons

Some teammates drag others down significantly. Uneven workload that management ignores. Excepts a culture of imbalance: very weak employees vs very strong. Little to no recognition for hard work and promotions are rare.

    Advice to Management

Reward the hard working staff. Don't give so many chances to deadbeat employees- get rid of them. Focus on better internal communication. Lots of staff in the dark on big picture happenings.

    Pros

The benefits of great health care, 401k, and great people to work with. Enjoyable work area comfortable business chairs, new desks, paint, and clean area. People here will help you if you ask.

    Cons

There is no training. Management sees favorites and ignores others. Lean more towards men. Show no appreciation for pitching in and doing more than your duties.

    Advice to Management

Put together a booklet to train new employees on the software. Spend time with the newbies. At least a week.

I worked at Integrated Merchandising Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great health benefits & profit-sharing. Consistently give bonuses. Valued employees. Since staffing is slow they are eager to make it work with current employees. If you are organized & focus on a life-work balance, they will support you.

    Cons

No room for advancement since a small staff. Best suited for those happy with a stagnant job role.

    Advice to Management

Continue letting employees have off-site breathers since being on-site with a demanding client can get frustrating

I have been working at Integrated Merchandising Systems full-time

    Pros

They provide a decent range of benefits, profit sharing and 401K options. The number of holidays and PTO is generous.

    Cons

Mangers are promoted and not provided training on how to manage subordinates. Compensation is not proportionate to actual work load or responsibilities. Advancement is only possibly by constantly changing accounts, and thorough training is unlikely.

    Advice to Management

Update the office space, and provide better incentives for employees to join in office culture.Require that executives take an active interest in the lower level employees.
