I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most the people are intelligent and prrofessional, total compensation is competitive for Sacramento market, opportunity to be a significant contributor to company operations

    Cons

Benefits have been decreasing, Employee Stock Purchase has been reduced, company 401k contribution has been reduced, extremely limited salary increases even with positive ("successful") performance evaluations, poor training and career advancement opportunities

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Leading edge technology--truly life changing for folks. Pretty good benefits package. VERY good Work/Life balance

    Cons

Similar to any large company, fair amount of bureaucracy in trying to achieve goals. Don't always pay attention to methods/effects of executing strategies, resulting in employees feeling left out.

I worked at Intel Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the graphics development and validation team, and loved the introduction to low-level graphics and code development. I had to switch managers halfway through the internship, but both managers were helpful and always inquired about my progress with my work.

    Cons

It was an extremely corporate environment, with multiple large buildings filled with floors upon floors of dim cubicles. It also seemed hard to find other young people with similar interests that led an outgoing lifestyle; it appeared that many employees did not have much of a life outside work. It was also slightly awkward that I started interning right at the beginning of the 12,000 employee layoff.

I worked at Intel Corporation (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are a lot of career roles and growth opportunities available with various groups within the company if you want to move up or try something new.
Depending on your specialized job requirements, you can work with your manager on flexible work-from-home schedule.
A lot of job perks such as Great Place to Work events for the family and Quarterly department events to take away some of the stress.

    Cons

I thought it was a company I could see myself retiring from, but because of constant changing business needs, the positions are not always as stable as you would expect. Continued career growth and keeping within groups that contribute to profitable market gains is what you should look out for.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate better alternatives to avoid having to make large cuts in the workforce as a one-stop solution.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work load is light. About 6 hours of work a day per employee. Free sodas and discounted cafeteria food.

    Cons

Company is dying and has no way to turn itself around.

Culture is a "go along to get along" / don't rock the boat. Most workers are very passive. Inclusive culture focused on internal "networking" rather than winning. A lot of make work going on, probably 25% extra headcount..

Middle and upper management are in direct revolt against CEO and his plans.
During my orientation (2nd quarter 2013) my orientation meeting was about how the CEO is wrong on his plans.

    Advice to Management

Not much you can do. These problems are the result of near monopoly on PC CPUs for 20 years. This place is what Hewlett-Packard was probably like in 2000 (with the printer monopoly), the collapse is coming, but without starting over there is no way to fix it.
