    Advice to Management

Continue to communicate changes of work and allow for input on ways to handle the change in workload.

    Pros

Good opportunity to learn and grow. Work is cutting edge and one can grow technically as well as a leader

    Cons

Stagnation in terms of ascending the ladder. The PTD organization is quite flat and it takes many years to get promoted

I have been working at Intel Corporation as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Smart people, interesting technology, decent cafeteria

    Cons

Factory mentality drives everything. Management attempts to approach software development in the same way as you might fabricate a motherboard. Failure to understand that this is an orange vs. apples situation. Saving money, cutting costs is primary focus with little interest in investing in technology.

    Advice to Management

Invest in good collaboration tools, in people who actually understand how to leverage technology to benefit Intel and Intel's customers

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, Pay, Off-Work events, onsite healthcare, dentist, massage, gyms

    Cons

"Boring" Job to begin with as Manufacturing Tech. You will literally sit and stare at a computer screen for 10+ hours a night. STICK WITH IT, room for growth for motivated candidates

    Advice to Management

Attrition on back end nights is and always has been terrible. Managers change out as fast as manufacturing technicians

I have been working at Intel Corporation as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a lot of learning opportunities here! The work-life balance is really great. There are out-of-work events like bowling, go-carting, golfing, etc.

    Cons

Just with any large corporation it can be intimidating to try to find information.

    Advice to Management

Be open to the employees you manage about why their assignments are suddenly changing.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Intel has an exceptional benefits package.

    Cons

The review structure is beyond ridiculous. It forces team members to compete against each other and sponsors an environment of favoritism. Intel wants you to devote every second of your life to them, yet at the same time wants you to change jobs every two years to prove your adaptive and eager to learn. All that hopping around creates a near constant state of confusion and chaos.

    Advice to Management

All the cool perks in the world will not compensate someone who feels insecure about their job and/or career path. It will not compensate people for working like dogs and neglecting work/life balance. Burning people out isn't a sustainable business model.
