I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are above industry standards. Company offers sabbatical at 4 year or 7 years. Most companies don't offer sabbaticals anymore.

    Cons

Very fast pace environment. Some positions in the manufacturing floor require 12 hours shifts, 3 to 4 days a week.

    Advice to Management

Communication at all levels is important

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good overall compensation.

Depends on which group you are in.

    Cons

Leadership struggles to make good decisions, needs to return to Andy Grove's "Inflection Point" awareness to make better decisions in advance.

Lack of good leadership is turning Intel into even more of a sweatshop environment.

Focal system causes behaviors and decisions that hurt the company.

    Very biased against older employees.

The experience of senior employees is not valued and is often a threat to younger managers.

Nobody I know really enjoys working at Intel, and I have observed this for over 20 years. What does that say?

    Advice to Management

Employees will respect good leaders. Make it desirable to be a manager and leader at Intel, instead of a position to be dreaded.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great team, great pay, great learning experience! Top notch technical company.

    Cons

A bit of a sweat shop and there are many "re-deployments" which is like a layoff but you get a chance to find another job in the company first. Also you tend to have a different manager at least once a year.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing it!

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The resources at your fingertips can be awesome and the stability is pretty good. There are some good long time employees but they are getting few and far between. The young talent coming in is surprisingly energetic and talented.

    Cons

You work like a startup but you don't get the potential upside of working at a startup. Over the last few years the meetings and administrative activity has become stifling.

    Advice to Management

Have a plan and stick to it. The professionals that work at Intel deserve better than to be constantly jerked around and ground up.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A lot of learning and growth opportunities if you are motivated.
A lot of good people, role models and managers you can look up.
    Excellent vacation benefit.

    Cons

There are some deceptively nice managers who care only his/her job security other than your career development, and you realize you work for such a manager only when you get screwed.
There are many groups that are poorly managed and add no value to the company.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

4/8 Sabbaticals, paternity leave, facilities, free fruit and drinks for internal employees, employee recognition program, logo, company name or resume

    Cons

Lack of communication, all about stockholders equity, no clear direction, reactive management. The company I started with back in 2006 is gone. It is extremely frustrating to see how management makes desperately decisions to maintain stockholders returns which translate in cuts. ACT reduced workforce by 10% but we continue to see reductions by collocation, shutdows, etc. leveraging presence in countries such as Costa Rica, India, and China. The company brags about record revenue each and every quarter, yet I have not seen record bonuses nor significant pay increases to compensate employees. I used to think that Intel was a career company with unlimited options; now I am planning on taking my last sabbatical before moving to a different company.

    Advice to Management

Show some appreciation to your employees, BK. Saying nice words at every BUM may seem nice to you but turning around and doing something else right after. I am exhausted of listening to you brag about the stock price and to ask us to work harder to meet our goals but you have done nothing to increase confidence level after two consecutive years of cuts. Be a manager please
