    Pros

Cutting edge technology and so much to learn - this can be a very good stepping stone to a very successful career. Opportunties are plenty, but one has to be self driven. Don't expect management to actively get involved in career development (although that is changing as well).

    Cons

Everyone wants to solve problems. Even managers are evaulated on their particular contribution 0 it is not enough to say that you enabled your team to achieve great things. Micromanagement is rampant and decision making structure is not good.

    Advice to Management

Executive level managers are doing a great job of steering the company - taking risks and bold moves to find new growth areas. Middle level managers are lousy (not all) and there is lot of dead wood that needs to get cleaned. Messages and vision from top does not trickle down well.

    - Large global presence => job security

    Cons

    - culture encouraged by corporate isn't always followed by middle management
    - village knowledge mentality increases bureaucracy and inhibits efficiency
    - no value for MBAs typically

    Advice to Management

    - Keep trimming middle management; theyre like roaches they just wont die and keep hiring each other back like cronies.
    - keep the senior management in place

    Cons

Bad Hours; Unknown Promotion criteria; Too rigid in its practices (But you cant argue with their results)

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

If you're technical, Intel is probably a great place to work for you. As a high-tech company we need technical folks for sure.

    Cons

If you're not technical and are on the services side of the house, Intel is becoming less and less a great place to work. So much of those jobs have been outsourced or offshored, it's difficult to get basic services completed the right way the first time. No offense to those who do the work; they're just not trained to do more than the bare minimum.

    Advice to Management

Review the company's relationship with Bain Co. Are they providing good direction or just direction? They may have helped cut heads and reduce costs, but at what price?

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

good company to work rigt out of college. Cutting edge CAD tools and advande design challanges. Fairly good learning curve for the first few years.

    Cons

Lot os politics and favorable treatment for handfull few. After 5+ years in the company the advancement possibilities are limited. More like state/government job, show 9-5 for a pay check.

    Advice to Management

Listen the workers at grade3 through grade8 level and see why they leav ethe company. Lots of imcompetent people still holding manager positions otehrwise would be avialable to deserving candiadates.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The people were most excellent to work with. This company varies greatly group to group. I was in a group with a great bunch of people.

    Cons

Bad apples stick around for a very long time. Once a persons are in the company will try and keep then around in hopes of reforming bad employees.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees when they say there is a problem with direct management. Sometimes bad apples must be thrown away and you cant always 'teach an old dog new tricks'. So dont try.
