I worked at Intel Corporation (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great place to work with incredibly intelligent, dedicated people at all levels from administrators to executives. A well run company that pays very close attention to the bottom line.

    Cons

Challenging to learn Intel's unique lexicon--it's acronym hell taken to a new level and then some on top of that! Working across business units is a must and not easy to execute--not impossible but the constantly changing landscape makes it something extremely challenging to successfully execute an agenda.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Money, work life balance, location, time off, easy expenses, travel, large company so potential to network, work from home, no real clock in clock out time

    Cons

Low regard for design, lack of vision, not very creative, super corporate red tape sometimes, boring culture, Santa Clara office some might call "soul sucking"

    Advice to Management

More visionary/inspirational strategy would be nice.

    Pros

Great people, who work hard and get things done. A flexible schedule and yearly compensation discussion and increases.

    Cons

Management keeps cutting employees, fist it was employees who have never had a less than stellar year. and than it was just many teams and projects who work well together, but over the last three there were over three rounds of layoffs and many employees are worried that their job will be next.

    Advice to Management

Stop laying off large swaths of people, instead of shutting down whole teams that work well together move them onto new projects where they can excel for intel.

    Pros

Was GPTW. Great scholl to get experience.

    Cons

Not anymore a GTPW. It's #4 in the Fabs now behind TSMC, Samsung, Global Foundries.

    Advice to Management

Fire BK! He is surrounded by YES-men. Latest round of layoffs totally indiscriminate. BK is running the company to the ground.
