I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent benefits, many different businesses you can look at going to. Deep glorious history one can feell proud of.

    Cons

Times have changed. And the company is still trying to feel where it needs to go to remain relevant. Tried many new things but nothing seems to stick. Part of the problem is lack of commitment and desire to approach things like a startup. The 15, 20 years veteran will talk and assign ARs (action required), only the new comer does the work.

    Advice to Management

You have cut a lot of the workforce. Lots more deadweight lifetimers are sucking the life out of anything good.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart, collaborative, hard-working people who want to produce the best work possible.

    Cons

Despite great talent and opportunities, the overall culture is oddly frustrating and at times toxic, partially attributable to an Emperors New Clothes approach to managing up.

    Advice to Management

Please stop micromanaging/micro-decision-making so your people can do their best work for the company. You may learn a thing or two from them!

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very interesting work. Opportunity to learn and contribute to leading edge technologies. Top pay and benefits. Compensation is merit based. Stock options too.

    Cons

Super competitive work culture. Long hard days. Intense pressure to produce results. Little appreciation unless you're one of the fast track, super-star performers. Steady performers that meet their deliverables without fanfare will not succeed.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Fairly easy to get in.
    Good healthcare and retirement benefits.

    Cons

As happens with many large companies, the structure is very bureaucratic, and relevant information is disseminated (or not) very slowly.
Many incompetent managers who know very little about how to effectively manage teams and provide career guidance.
Unfair review system which other users have mentioned.
There are a certain set of people who are deemed star performers and always make it to the top 10% of the raking and therefore handed a higher salary and stocks. Again, as other users have said, a lot of this depends on the perception you create rather than the actual work you do.
You also get penalized in the focal process for switching to a different group midyear and being ranked with longtime members of the new group.

    Advice to Management

Downsize middle management, there is a lot of fluff here.
Keep the people in the trenches who do the real work.
Upskill your current workforce instead of simply firing them and hiring new grads.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time

    Pros

Work Life Balance, Lifetime Careers and lots of very smart people

    Cons

I worked at Intel Corporation as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Intel hires very talented people and has interesting projects to work on. I worked on an email marketing program for them and had a lot of autonomy in developing the email strategy. The employees here are respectful and mature.

    Cons

It is a very large company and if you don't' want to get lost in the shuffle you have to be very proactive about getting on people's radar. It is not for everyone because sometimes things are a little slow moving and people aren't always aware of who does what.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, but don't be afraid to move faster at times.
