I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Just about everyone I worked with was smart and personable.

    Cons

Not enough good work to go around. Different groups compete for the same projects.
    Layoffs!

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great environment, people, facilities, events.

    Cons

Your manager could destroy all great things if he/she is not capable of managing and have 0 peoples skills. Compensation is on lower side.

    Advice to Management

Turn back managers ratings, so people can give them reviews too.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are superior in my area. Work is challenging, and fast paced. Lots of little perks like stock participation, quarterly team outings, family events.

    Cons

Lately, job security and trust in management has been a problem. We didn't used to see so many layoffs and cost cutting measure that are being pushed by the opinions of stock analysts instead of sound business decisions. Cuts have seemed arbitrary, or following the easiest thing to do instead of what makes sense.

    Advice to Management

Show more loyalty to employees than analysts. Don't give up on the PC market. Quit spending so much money on acquisitions, and start spending money on home grown solutions earlier. Too slow too often.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Decent total compensation (base+bonuses+benefits)
Lots of very smart people working there
Excellent work/life balance...if you want it

    Cons

company is struggling to increase profits as demand and ASP drop
A lot of uncertainty about the annual review process has made the environment toxic at times
If you want anything more than just "successful" rating, you need to consistently give 110% - which usually means poor work/life balance

    Advice to Management

It doesn't feel like Intel is a career company anymore, what with the regular changes to layoff/VSP criteria

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary, Benefits, Interesting work, doesn't cut corners on small stuff .

    Cons

Reverse discrimination in hiring; minorities have advantage.
Very much a hardware company, but still dedicated to x86 architectures.

    Advice to Management

Ask engineers if acquisitions make technical sense before investing money in them.
Don't overpay so much when acquiring other companies.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some of the best people I've worked with are at this company.
It is large enough that you can find a career that interests you almost anywhere.

    Cons

Not a place to go if you want to grow or innovate.
If you want to occupy a chair for 30 years and then retire, this could by your dream job.
Employees are largely forbidden from using industry standard solutions (even if they are better than homegrown ones).
Working at Intel is now considered a "black mark" on resumes (especially for software people).

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

World class organization with open culture in work and personnel practices. Very ethical work place with very clear escalation path for harassment and discrimination.

    Cons

Like any technology organization, reward is a little skewed to few top performers. With there is little difference between team members in terms of performance, this can be frustrating some times to both managers and team members.

    Advice to Management

performance review system needs to be updated Laying off successful performers based on indirect grading impacts employee morale.
