I worked at Intelligent Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Non, salary was alright but no amount of compensation could alleviate how poor this company was. I have heard the terms money pit and zombie company andnthis was both...with bells on!

    Cons

Management trying to cheat test results and projects in order to look good. No grasp of reality, or how to do a proper job.

I worked at Intelligent Energy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some great people. Really world-class technology. Salary not bad. Relatively relaxed. No two days are the same.

    Cons

Old boys network causes constant issues with major problems being swept under the carpet. Pathetic upper-level management chasing poorly thought-through dreams without actually asking "does anyone want this?". Constant promises to improve things which never pan out. Desperation to run the company as a large company rather than the small place it is - this includes constantly hiring to high-level positions of, at best, questionable worth. Frequent "all-hands" meetings where the upper management can tell lies about the technology to the people who invented it. Poor career progression.

    I worked at Intelligent Energy

    Pros

There are a great many extremely intelligent people working on a technically inspiring new technology (Hydrogen fuel cell stacks). The potential to make a real impact on the future energy market, as well as climate change and pollution problems, is huge.

    Cons

The company has been unlucky in commercial deals not being delivered when expected. It was also afflicted by a wasteful lack of focus when I was there, trying to pursue too many technical leads at once and not executing its goals efficiently.

I worked at Intelligent Energy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people - few good people in management seats

    Cons

I was an employer at Intelligent Energy for over 4 years, it was a great vision at the beginning but lost it on a way. Management has focused on training themselves and getting payrises instead of developing the skills for employees who believed in the company leading to more than 100 people taking voluntary redundancies during restructure.

    I worked at Intelligent Energy

    Pros

Excellent working environment; good facilities; leading edge technology.

    Cons

Really over ambitious with plans to launch products; never felt the management were sure whether to license or manufacture the product; many promises made and not delivered to suppliers regarding future business.

I worked at Intelligent Energy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very intelligent workforce who are very commuted and good to work with. Good technology which is interesting and challenging to work on

    Cons

Company is poorly managed, no clear direction or plan. Company jumps from one big idea to the next with out due diligence or market research to prove that the idea has any validity. Management is disengaged from the workforce, pushing their ideas on the workforce without listening to the views of the employees at ground level. Career development is limited at best with some people being favoured while others are ignored.
