I worked at Intelligent Mechatronic Systems full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers and health benefits. Nice work atmosphere. Didn't see any political drama.

    Cons

No on-boarding process. You get an HR orientation and a mentor for a week, at which point you'd better pray they have a good project ready for you to work on. Otherwise, you should expect to have your tasks reassigned every time you come back from getting a coffee. Don't expect any feedback except the formal feedback managers have to do.

Goals - both people and projects - are attempted without a clear implementation plan or performance indicators, resulting in disorganization and an array of job titles you'll never hope to remember. You'll also only know if you're doing a poor job after its too late to do anything about it.

Other Glassdoor comments about turnover appear to be accurate. Neither my manager nor my manager's boss work there anymore. In my last month there, both my manager and a coworker I was partnered with left with little to no notice. Turned out to be an omen. If they kept up the rate that I saw, I'd estimate that they'd have a turnover rate of about 25% per year.

Retirement benefits were almost non-existent. No profit sharing plan, no pension, no group TFSA. Pension plans aren't common nowadays, but a 50% RRSP match up to a maximum of 2% is a joke when you don't offer a pension. Double the cap on matching and then it'll be reasonable.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire people for the sake of hiring people. Don't throw new employees into the ocean, turn your backs, and expect them to find land. Show some leadership in project management and people management.

    Advice to Management

The company has many excellent leaders but it is top heavy.
IMS needs to continue down the path of empowerment and self directed teams.

    Cons

Disgusting CO. Full of liars and broken promises. Started after Curley , Larry and Moe joined late 2015. Co crumbled.
CO in the Red for 15 years. Sounds like great job security. Promised NO more management layers and to reducce management layers, what happens? Lay off's happened and hired more layers of management!!
If you are in the soccer league they play in the evenings you'll be sure to be OK and get your bonus.
Working on products that no customers want. We couldn't even keep a customer we were paying them to use.
Always doing the quick fix to survive.
    Not a good environment.

Executives are delusional and don't value people. They keep losing good people and turnover rate is increasing -- for good reason. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Demands for working overtime are excessive.
