    Pros

Work is tough for sure when you're switching between being a mobile app developer, web developer, and whatever else is needed at the moment but it definitely gives you the opportunity to with whatever technologies you want as well as touch all aspects of a development stack, doing everything from requirements gathering to architecture all the way through handing a product off to a customer. Its a unique experience being able to see all of that come together on such a short tome frame.

The company also does a great job keeping a close knit and collaborative culture. You have a company of close knit people who genuinely seem to want to help each other out from management all the way down to interns.

    Cons

When everything is said and done IPS is still a contracting/services company so things are always feast or famine. Either there's too much work and not enough people or you're waiting around for the next project to start/come in.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work with the company culture, I think it's really what sets you apart from other companies.

    Pros

You will be given a lot of interesting projects to work on and will be focused very much on coding design and implementation instead of getting stuck with menial changes. This gives you a great opportunity to learn and have fun while doing so. There is a lot of hands on work as well in addition to coding. The management is very approachable and easy to work with. Recently switched to a 980 workweek, hopefully it will last.

    Cons

What people say about contractors still holds true, but it has gotten a little more stable since I have been working there. Is also has shifted to a slightly more cooperate style, but it still provides good flexibility and there are NO politics.

    Advice to Management

Overall excellent job breeding a company culture. For more stable employment, instead of doing work for a client right away, try harder to convince them to put off work for a month so that you can keep your employees more gainfully employed.

Thanks for the thoughtful review and advice. One challenge to a consulting business is that clients usually arrive in a rush to get started. Like the fire department, by the time you get the call... More

IPS is a fast-paced, high performance work environment which is perfect for anyone who is driven. Communications are direct and honest and everyone in the room has a voice and is respected.

    Cons

Sometimes the workload is so intense that you can't figure out what to do next.

    Advice to Management

Keep building on the great foundation that's been laid down at IPS.

    Pros

Fun environment. Company really cares about employees. Diverse work.

    Cons

It's a consulting firm. Unlike a big company where you don't see when trouble is ahead, you will know when things are going wrong here.

    Pros

The work is very challenging and there is an extremely good mix of work. If you like learning a lot of different technologies rather than being stuck writing one application in one language for the rest of your life this is a great place to work. The organization is extremely humble from top to bottom. Every one is treated with respect. There are plenty of office events and a game system to let your mind take a breather.

    Cons

This is a services company which can be feast or famine. This results in workers sometimes being over or under booked. Pay is about average for Long Island but not competitive compared to NYC.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, trust in your management. Recent trajectory suggests that we're on the right path.

    Pros

Great place to work! Everyone in the office is great to work with. The new office is beautiful and makes it easy to wake up and come to work every morning. Every Friday is bagel day and once a month we get free, amazing, pizza.

    Cons

It is a consultancy so when work is slow there is some down time that can make you feel like your job is in jeopardy. Although i haven't had this feeling in over 2 years now, we've been so busy!

    Advice to Management

    Great Job!

    Pros

Interesting projects and a challenging environment to work in with lots to learn. The people are nice and they usually have social events.

    Cons

Seems like the business model is struggling between being a traditional engineering services firm and a hip start up. It is hard to get a position as an employee and there are a lot of contractors.
